Unlock keyboard how do you unlock a pc keyboard

On most Laptops there is an F# key which will unlock the keyboard. Press Fn at the bottom of the keyboard and then the F(number) key at the top of the keyboard.

Hello, have you tried plugging in a USB keyboard or mouse? I'm have a hard time finding info on locking or unlocking a keyboard and mouse pad on a laptop, (without third party software) there is one bit of software that requires you to type "unlock" to gain control again. I doubt thats you problem.

Well you may have a bigger problem than a locked keyboard. If you tried to shut down all your programs and reboot, and if you could reboot as someone else to see if it it a locked keyboard. By rebooting the keyboard should auto unlock however if your using a wireless keyboard (check your batteries), and finally on this machine there is a problem with using USB keyboards, try to unplug the USB keyboard then waiting 10 seconds, then plug it into a different USB port, this will reset the keyboard in some cases, but it may be necessary for you to reload the keyboard driver. Okay you say how do you do that without the keyboard? Well if your mouse is working go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>ACCESSIBILITY>ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD and use your mouse to reload the USB keyboard driver and see if that fixes your problem.

I just think you accidentally locked your keyboard and touchpad by pressing the function key!

Just press: FN + F6

this will unlock the keyboard and touchpad!

Should have an option under start control panel to unlock the keyboard

The connections might be loose. Please try to unplug the cable which connects your keyboard to the computer. If that doe snot work try an alternate keyboard and see if that works.

If that still does not work, then most probably it is the keyboard port on the motherboard which is faulty.

KBD MOUSE PORTS NOT WORKING. USE USB KEYBOARD AND USB MOUSE

Goto control panel - keyboard. See if U can unlock it from there. Else goto control panel- system and uninstall keyboard, then "action" scan for changes and reinstall the keyboard. Normally the cd's that come with the keyboard have the programs to lock them out. Recommend... don't install the lockout program.
