Earlier today I was connected to the internet fine. I stepped away from my computer for a little bit and now it doesn't connect to the internet. The wireless adapter is showing that it is connected to...

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can do so you can isolate whether the problem is with the router , the modem or your pc.
1. Disable / enable the wireless connectivity in your laptop.2. Restart the laptop. Then check if it is working. If not, go to the next step.
3. Restart your modem and router by unplugging the power cord on the back of the devices. Wait for the devices to load, then check if it is working. If not, proceed to the next step.
4. Try connecting your laptop to the modem directly by using an ethernet cable. If it did work, the problem is with the router. Its best to call the manufacturer of your wireless router if that's the case.
5. If step 5 still didnt work when you already connected your laptop directly to the modem, the problem is with the modem itself. Call your internet service provider and they'll do troubleshooting steps on their end too.
Hope this was helpful! Have a great day.

I have an ADSL D-Link modem (DSL-300G)that works fine. I hooked a D Link wired router, EBR-2310 and can't get to the internet. It use to work until one day recently the kid moved wires arround because no...

First: Connect your computer directly to the ADSL modem. It has an Ethernet port.
If you can't get to the Internet while your computer is connected directly to the modem, then ytour router never will either. Call ISP if you can't connect to the Internet when directly conencted to the modem.
Next: Check your router wires again, The modem must be connected to the "special" port on the router. Look at the router. There is one port separated from the rest. Connect the modem to that port. Conenct to the Internet.
Still no Internet?
Reset your router by pushing a stylus (straightened-out paperclip) into the reset "hole" on the router (with router powered ON).
Push & hold for 30 seconds or until the lights do their reset dance. Connect to the INternet.

Perhaps one of your ethernet cables is bad?

When everything is connected, the "WAN" light on your router should go on, as well as the lights for whatever network connections your are using for your computer.

Obviously the cable that you used to connect your computer directly to the modem is working, so try replacing the other one.
