I had similar problem. when I clicked on "Meet Now" I got message "Unexpected Error. Please try again.". The cause of problem was wrong SYSTEM DATE !! my system was mistakenly setup as previous day's date. Once I corrected the system date, I could host the meeting without any problems. I have reported the issue to Citrix, I hope they fix it in the next release.

Following are other workarounds that I used before I found the solution:

When I started a meeting from another PC, I was able to join the meeting from the crash PC and then take over as the Organizer.

I logged into the gotomeeting website, then clicked in "my meetings". I scheduled a dummy meeting and I was able to start the meeting by clicking the "Start Meeting" button.

If you are using the browser as internet explorer then check with other browser like mozilla firefox . if that is not there then first download mozilla firefox which is free if you search on google. after the download is compleate , restart the computer and check if it works or not with firefox. if it works with the other browser then there is the problem in the internet explorer browser and you will have to download upgraded version by going to microsoft.com // or else you can stick to mozilla firefox for this session

Hi,

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Gotomeeting recording not playing in windows 8

Do you mean that the video file recorded by gotomeeting couldn't be played on your Windows 8? You should pay attention to its format, the gotomeeting video file is not supported by the most of players. If sometimes you need to review your gotomeeting video, you'd better to use other screen recorders which could record your session in common formats, such as MP4, AVI, WMV, etc. There're many free screen recorders could do this, like CamStudio and oCam. Besides, I can offer you a guide about how to use a useful application to record gotomeeting.

When trying to enter a meeting code for a gotomeeting, it then tells me there is an unexpected error. Please try again. I have confirmed that this IS the correct number.

I had this issue as well and I ended up having to delete the C:\Program Files\Citrix\GoToMeeting folder because it had some old cached versions of GoToMeeting. After that it worked fine.

How to setup gotomeeting in thunderbird instead of outlook

Solution is here. Go to Preferences in GoToMeeting, change the email application to your default email application instead of Outlook. Then make sure that Thunderbird is set as your default email application.
Now you are done!
Create a new meeting or click Invite button after selecting a meeting from the GoToMeeting My Meetings popup, and you can see the Thunderbird new email windows shows up.

INSTALL ERROR - THE INSTALLER COULD NOT LOCATE A SUITABLE FOLDER TO INSTALL INTO

Try this:

The issue seems to be related to a Windows Security Update. Our engineers are working on this.

Can I get you to ask your client to try the following:

After clicking the link to join your meeting.

Select the option to manually download the software and save the executable somewhere you can find it easily. Most people prefer to save the file to their desktop.

Next, right click on the icon and select “Run As…”

Finally, DESELECT the option to “Protect my computer from unauthorized program activity.”

And select OK.

You should be able to connect into the meeting.

You can also try joining the meeting through a different browser such as firefox.

Huh. I usually wouldn't do this but I suggest using a different remote assistance program. Here's a great one that I suggest for you. It's called TeamViewer, you can do everything you could do on GoToMeeting. I hope it helps and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Cannot connect as a guest with gotomeeting/gotowebinar

My name is Chris and I work for Citrix Online supporting GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. We're sorry to hear you are having trouble connecting to a GoToMeeting/Webinar session, but we have some helpful tips should you choose to try and join again:

- If you are unable to connect, exit from the GoToMeeting software completely, and then visit http://www.gotomeeting.com/wizard to download the latest connection wizard.
- Run the connection wizard on your PC, if it tells you that Good connection settings were found, then reboot your PC. If no good connections were found, please give us a call (800-263-6317)
- Once your computer reboots, try to join the meeting again.
- If you continue to have issues, please call us (800-263-6317)

I hope this proves helpful to you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with while trying to use our products.

Not able to install Citrix GoToMeeting

Hi!
I am a Vista user and did have the same issue, so here what I did in order not to have this annoying error (I am not sure what action specifically did the trick):
1) Did it via Firefox (make sure you have the latest one);
2) Go to java.com and install the latest java update;
3) Go to gotomeeting.com->Login->re-install software->download manually and save g2m_download.exe file;
4) Now do Unblock and Apply in g2m_download.exe file property General tab;
5) Then Vista users need to disable UAC, I suppose this is the same as "Uncheck the “Protect my computer …”" (Go to "Control Panel" and type "UAC" into the search box. This will bring up the link: "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off." Click it. Uncheck the box next to "Use UAC to help protect my computer" then click OK. Restart.);
6) After restart right click on g2m_download.exe and "run as administrator".
Thats it!
