Why you nshould instal drivers after formating and installing windows xp

After installing Windows XP you will find the motherboard device drivers such as video, audio, modem, LAN etc are not installed and therefore these are not functioning.

You can download the motherboard drivers from Intel WEB site. Select your model motherboard/device, and make sure you select the Windows XP version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.
Please click on this link and select your model motherboard : -

No audio

When you install an operating system, you need to install the chipset
drivers, the graph drivers, sound driver.

This motherboard is old and phase out. So there is not much support
for the board.

There is one download for this board from shuttle, I posted the page
below and you will see the download. If this does not have the sound driver,
the only other two things you can do is go to devise MGR and see who made the sound hardware and see if they have it, or you can right
click on it and pick update software driver, search internet.
If you can find it or it does not find one for you, there is nothing you can do. Sorry.

A Couple of quick q's

the only setting in the bios that is for your Graphics card is the VGA setting which needs to be set to AGP first or AGP primary. items that appear under "other devices" do not have the drivers correctly loaded, The system can Identify them but has no drivers for them to function correctly. you need to download or install the drivers for these devices. The audio device may have old drivers which are not suitable for your OS, it would be best to download updated drivers from the mobo manufacturer's website. hope this helps
