Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player
How brave are you =)
The easiest way to rectify this will involve a screwdriver, cotton tip (like the ones your wife is always trying to ram into your ears) and a bottle non acetone nail pollish remover. It has to be non acetone.
<<<<<<UNPLUG THE UNIT FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO ALLOW THE POWER INSIDE TO DISCHARGE>>>>>>>
Open the unit, you will see there is also a cover over top of the dvd drive held in with a few screws, take that off as well to get access to the laser.
Pour a small amount of the nail polish remover into the lid and dip the end of a cotton tip into it (not the whole thing, just a small amount on the tip is fine)
GENTLY clean the laser lens with this. Do not apply a lot of pressure, just enough to make the lens move a little is fine. Clean all over the lens, and make sure to get the top. You can move in any direction.
Allow a minute or so for the cleaner to evaporate, then use the dry end of the cotton tip to jently wipe the laser again.
Pop it all back together and away you go =)
