I bought my husband a Nextar for Christmas and he never used it or trie to until now when we have to go quite a distance on August 7th to a wedding in Annopolis md.well I took the Nextar back to the store because many poats wedre missing and they gave me a new set. I must register so here I am trying to get it registered and I need your help.

Get the batteries tested .As a motor mechanic your husband should know about battery care you could have removed them and charged them with a car battery charger or any of the trickle chargers used to keep batteries charged while not in use

Solution #1 is incorrect. Just bought on of these units at K-Mart the other day. The X3-03 uses NAVTEQ maps, it's even mentioned in the owners manual. Plus there is no CD software that comes with the unit. Plugging the unit into any PC just makes the PC make connect and disconnect alert sounds repeatedly until the unit is unplugged from the USB port. It never even asks where the driver files are. 
I to contacted Nextar through email and asked about updates to the unit and maps. This was their response:
