This was also an issue with my own camera and I was getting really really mad that it SHOULD have been working, but wasn't. I fixed the issue by removing the batter and taking a very very very small screwdriver and prying the contacts back just a little bit in order to make contact with the battery. I placed the batter back in and voila! Hope it works with you!
It could be something more serious, or as simple as inserting
fresh/fully charged batteries, but the problem you describe is frequently due to
corroded battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and
wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion may
require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine
sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery
compartment during cleaning, clean the contacts at both ends of the
batteries, and reinsert them in the camera. This cleaning cures the
problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.
It always does that while it's powering up the flash again. If you're saying it doesn't come back after a few more seconds, that is a problem. Or maybe by that time, the power saver kicks in. You can tell if the power light starts blinking. Then you just have to press the shutter button again to turn it back on.
If this error message appears, turn off the camera and remove the batteries for 30 seconds. Afterwards, reinsert the batteries and turn the camera back on.
If this doesn't work, perform a manual reset of the camera.
