Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-24FS120 24" TV
My sony trinitron shut down and I'm not able to turn it back on. Red light blinks and just clicks. Any idea's? Not sure if it is worth fixing. thanks.
Most of the time, this is a failure in the horizontal output stage. This can be the flyback, the output transistor, or driver transistor, the driver transformer, and also some of the capacitors. Other areas of failure can also be in the power supply itself.
Sometimes the CRT can have an internal short in the electron-gun assembly, and cause these types of failures.
The cost of repair for your set may be a little on the expensive side. Considering the age of this model, it would be more feasible to replace it with a new set.
