On my Onkyo TX-DS777 I have lost all audio out after a storm 2 nights ago, all Video is fine; the phono, AM/FM, DVD (which is a PS3 that is using OPT2 for audio), set top box for cable which is Video 3 (video is fine) and on OPT1 for audio. Speaker A lamp is on, the Speaker Setup is the same as it has been for years. When I switch channels on my TV I can see the the DSP adjusting to 3.2/1 on the new channels; there is no hiss or anything coming out of th espeakers.

In a past life I was an electronics tech and have been working in the networking field, hands on, for the remainder of my career, but I am stumped. All the speakers work on another system.

Greetings! Yes, we had bad storms that night; I did the "soft reset" by holding the Video 1 button down and pushing the Speaker A button, this defaults everything to factory default. After setting the speakers back had the same issue, no audio out. At that point I didconnected everything from the unit, pulled it out of the rack and hooked it to speakers in a different room, no workie.

At that point I took it into my shop and pulled the cover off to check for any obvious electrical component damage, the visible fuses ohmed OK Very unusual as absolutely everything else on the unit works except the audio output.

Have you tried to do a hard reset. Unplug the gear from the wall socket for 30mins, then try again. Were there any nearby lightning strikes that may have induced an EMP This could have caused input switching chip problems as the connecting leads act almost as antenna, or come straight in the power and upset program counters in the control sections of the amp. See what happens to reset it.
