I was ripping a store bought music CD and then locked my computer. When i came back an hour later it had a blank screen. Now when i power it up the screen is blank and the Hard Drive light comes on for about a second then goes off. The computer will not load up. The CD-RW/DVD-RW drive light stays on and will not eject the CD tray.

Is the computer plugged in to a known good power source with a known good power cord? Also, make sure the power is fully seated on both ends. When you press the power button are you getting any indicator lights? The power button itself has an LED that will be either solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber, or off. Do you hear any beeps?
Is there power on the HT control panel? little red or green lights, lcd display info, anything? Look up any codes you find.
After that little inspection, a number of things can go wrong. First Unplug the unit, then Open her up and look for any sort of anomaly. Photograph and post what you find.
I have 2 of these devices. Try using a cellular phone charger with the same plug at the end and plug it in. I have waited 5-10 minutes after doing this and they have come back to life and turn on. Maybe it will work for you.

Laptops are so integrated that usually a system failure that involves power issues such as in your case where you cant get it turn on with anything on the screen mean the mainboard (motherboard) is damaged. This usually leads to buying a new laptop or paying for the board to be replaced which usually costs as much as the laptop.
