The optimus black phone should take 2-3 hours to fully charge. When you get a new phone, however, it is generally a good idea to let the battery completely die before you start charging it.
Over time, batteries hold less and less charge. Supposedly, by allowing the battery to completely die before charging it the first time, you improve the longevity of the battery.
I would take the USB cord and plug it into your computer and charge it that way. There has been some trouble with the wall charges coming with phone not working. If it still won't charge, its time to take it back to were you got it. Good Luck!
Hello. Your phone charging plug is shot and needs to be replaced. Take it to the phone store and ask them what your options are. They may just give you a new phone. Joe
I have just started having the same problem. At first it wouldn't allow me to hear when it was plugged in to an AC outlet, but it would be ok if I was charging through either the car charger or USB plug. Now it doesn't work no matter what type of device I charge with. I too need a solution.
you have done well in troubleshooting it. if you have tried another charger on it and its not charging, then you have to replace the charging port. if you are good opening phones, then replacing the charging port will not be a problem. the chrging port is usually not screwed, it is just fixed to the board by contacts. look for the replacement part and change it. other wise, take it to a phone technician with the new charging port and replace it. good luck!
make sure that your charger is not bent, i had the samd roblem sometimes you just have to get a new charger or just get that one to position right so that it will charge the phone
The charger charges the battery independent of the phone. It is the only one I have found and it works GREAT. I had a couple issues at first but the rep, Matt, bent over backwards to resolve them. I would recommend this charger and company to anybody. The charger is a universal charger and will charge other cell phone batteries as well. The only con is that it does take a little longer to charge than using the port.
Have you tried a different plug? Sounds like the plug might be bad. If you have a car charger, and a house charger, I would try both. IF one charges, and the other one doesnt, you have your answer. If you have trouble with both, then either you have 2 bad plugs, or the socket on your phone might be bad. Either way, your local phone dealer can check them out in seconds, and some places won't even charge.
Good luck
