The test is a simple one, with engine off and cooled down test the pulleys by hand, turn them slowly in the direction of rotation and feel for a binding sound or feel, if you feel a noticable bind and noise your culprit is the pulley or the a/c compressor.
Test whatever else runs off this belt as well by doing the same test.

2001 impala 3.8 liter belt size to bypass AC unit

You can also remove the a/c compressor and install a bypass pulley in its place. You can still use the standard belt this way, just run it to the bypass pulley instead of the a/c compressor. RockAuto has them at the link.

Ford Expedition 2001 crankshaft sensor location and installation

  • Located front of engine, close to crank pulley
  • press the helpful button and follow me on Fixya for more tips
  • Insert the square tip of a 1/2-inch socket wrench into the square hole in the center of the serpentine belt's adjustment pulley. The adjustment pulley is the smallest pulley the belt wraps around.
  • Pull the adjustment pulley toward the engine with the socket wrench to release the tension on the serpentine belt, then pull the belt off the air conditioning compressor's pulley.
  • Remove the bolts which secure the air conditioning compressor to its mounting brackets with an open-end wrench, then position the compressor to the side of the engine compartment. Do not disturb the hoses that attach to the compressor.
  • Pull the electrical connection off the crankshaft sensor.
  • Remove the two bolts that secure the crankshaft sensor against the engine with an open-end wrench, then slide the sensor out of the engine.
  • Slide the new crankshaft sensor into the engine, then install and tighten the sensor's two securing bolts with an open-end wrench.
  • Press the electrical connection onto the crankshaft sensor.
  • Position the air conditioning compressor against its mounting brackets, then install and tighten the compressor's bolts with an open-end wrench.
  • Pull the serpentine belt's adjustment pulley toward the engine with the socket wrench, then position the belt onto the air compressor's pulley. write up found @ehow

Siezed up a/c compressor

Usually pretty hard to find to get the right one. There might be one that fits your Stratus if a model was produced that had your same engine but without air conditioning. But keep in mind that that other model may have the other belt-driven accessories in a different location on the engine than yours. So the belt may or may not fit.

An alternative is to buy an "A/C Delete Pulley and Bracket" and install that in place of your compressor. It's just a free wheeling pulley set-up, then you can use the same belt without having to find a replacement size. Some company makes them, they probably have an application for the Stratus.

How do I replace a serpentine belt bypassing the air conditioner ... I am not using the air conditioner pulley at all.

Odds are you can't. The ac compressor is mounted in the belt routing so it would need the pulley to keep the belt tight.
You can get a used compressor from a salvage yard and mount it in place of your old part if necessary. It will allow the belt to run even if it has no freon in the system.
There are a few vehicles that a replacement dummy pulley was designed for, but I am not aware of one for your vehicle. Usually if you try to run the belt without the compressor pulley, it will rub against something or not allow the belt to run in the right direction.

2001 holden rodeo air conditioning broken, broken fan belt, suitable fanbelt to bypass aircon

Use the same belt as the ac compressor will not work unless you turn it on. Disconnect the wire to the ac pulley clutch and the pulley just becomes an idler and you can get the standard belt anywhere.

How to bypass the air condtioning

Not really. I am not aware of that model being sold without ac.
So there would not be a belt and idler pulley used in place of the compressor.
The easiest way to fix it is to get a used compressor and put it on. You don't have to charge the ac for the pulley to work.

I have a Mazda Tribute 2001. The Air conditioning all the sudden stopped working. In several occasions if we left the AC on for too long we heard a loud noise coming from the belts. Can it be a fuse or...

It sounds like your air conditioning compressor or air conditioning clutches have gone bad the solution is to have rebuilt (or buy a rebuilt)air conditioning compressor. Do not attempt to work on thr compressor yourself unless you are certified in air conditioning, gas in system can kill you if you breeth it in.
