Question about Phoenix Gold Xenon-600.1 Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

Pheonix Gold Xenon 600.1 power problem.

This morning my subs tipped over along with my amp on top because i took off fast and my box isnt strapped down. now when i turn on my power you can hear a high pitched noise that gets lower and stops. this lasts about one second. the power light will not turn on now. I've reconnected everything, the ground, the remote, and the power. i found a pinch in the remote wire and when i fixed that, the amp turned on, but when i turned up my volume it promptly shut off. anyone have any ideas?

Ah never mind i figured it out. For some reason, the guy who installed my system connected the ground to the frame with plastic right above it and both were held under the same bolt. when my subs tipped and ripped the ground out of the sub, it also pulled the other end of the ground up so it was mainly touching the plastic and hardly had any connection to the frame.

Do your speakers move in/out smoothly if you push on them?

Have you tried disconnecting the speaker wires from the amp to see if it would remain on?

You need power to the amp. If the light on the amp is not on then your amp is the problem. Get power to it.

Can i hook up a powered 12'sub to a Pheonix Gold xs2500 amp without blowing the speaker

First I hope you remove the speaker wires from the speaker that come from the built in amplifire. You cannot hook the powered sub to the amp without doing that first. Then all you need to do is run speaker wire from the sub out of the box to the amp. In no way can you hook up any other part of the powered sub, but the sub itself, to the amp. If you know the wattage of the sub and the ohms then wire it to the amp correctly. Your phoenix amp will put out 125 watts x 2 at 4 ohms and 250 watts x 2 at 2 ohms and 500 watts x 1 at 4 ohms bridged. Remember, only the sub itself in the sub enclosure can be connected to the amp. Hope this helped you. Let me know if you need more help.

Moisture in amp while on, caused a small pop, then no sound outpu

check the fuse between the battery and the amp. (not the fuse in the back of the amp).
if that doesn't work then something on the inside of the amp is fried.

Ok, I have a pair of infinity dual voice coil 12" subs, and a pair of audiobahn quad voice coil 12" subs. Boths sets of speakers can handle 450w. Which set of 12's would be best to hook up to this amp, and...

i recomend you just use the best single woofer in a well built box and that will give you better sound at lower gain volumes it sounds like you have too much junk laying around but to get good bass run your sub at 2 ohms if the amp is stable at that impedence

Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200 mono not pushing subs and making noise.

This sounds like a problem with the head unit output to the sub amp. Are you using a Pioneer head unit? If so, you may have a problem with some surface mounted fuses inside the radio on the main board. Certain Pioneer head units have a common problem with these fuses blowing. They are fuses for the ground on the RCA outputs.

Let me know if this is the case, and if it is I can give you the part number of these fuses and tell you where they are located, but you would need good soldering skills to replace them. Also let me know what model number your head unit is.

Thanks,

Dave

Subs

I looked up that amp, it doesn't have a listing for 2ohms x1 but it has 2 ohms x 2 and its at 250watts. For this situation, I would recommend a different amp or different subs. Right now you are getting the most you can get out of your sub/amp combo, if you only have single voice coil subs. Which is common in the mtx preloaded boxes. Either you want an mono block amp stable at 2 ohms or 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs. If you got the subs you would wire the voice coils in series so you could get 8 ohms then the subs in parallel so you could get 4 ohms, which would be the best for that particular amp. Good luck.

Led light keeps flashing on my phoenix gold amp

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . Remember to disconnect all power including ground for about to 1/2 hour to discharge capacitors. You might get lucky and get a reset. .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. led-light-keeps-flashing-phoenix-gold-zb4bomd1rt4qms0dqd12kkt2-3-0.jpg
