One ov my decks (same Gemini PT-1000 II) had the same problem. Just open it and clean the micro switches underneath the big buttons. It worked fine for me.

How do I fix the speed of my Technics SL-6 Turntable?

Something has gone awry in the world beneath the platter so you will have to remove the platter to expose the mechanism, then observe what happens (or doesn't happen) when the buttons are pressed.

Arm not working. Stop/start light flashes red instead of staying solid

Don't try and force anything that won't move. Try this. With the power unplugged, place the tonearm over the record, if it will move freely, while rotating the platter by hand. Move the tonearm slowly over the surface of the platter until the end. Continue turning the platter by hand and see if the tonearm picks up and returns to the rest. See if that fixes your issue. Try moving the tone arm lever to raise the arm, if it has one.(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE RELEASED THE ARM CLIP!) Then with the arm raised move the arm over towards the platter. If platter still doesn't rotate, and its a belt drive, A. The belt is bad. or B. The belt has come off the platter or motor pulley.

I have just bought 2 1200 mk2 ,the seller has told me the start/stop buttons where powered by a mixer and will either need to be reconnected this way or reconfigured is this a problem??

who ever told you that is a ****, start n stop are tied into the power of the turntables motor etc. if you plug the turntable in turn it on n hit start. it should start. if not who ever sold it to you made a BS lie to get rid of them cause the motor was burnt out. start n stop have nothing to do with the mixer what so ever. so try just hooking up the turntable and turn the power on. see if anything lights up then his the start button and see if the platter starts to move if not its your motor.

Hello

Check whether the drive belt is in position. If it has slipped out of the motor pulley, turn table won't turn when you push start button. Mke sure that power chord is connected firmly and the power does comes to the player. If drive belt is deteriorated replace it.
There is no other special faults to occur to the player. You have the manual and refer to its fittings. OK.

from ur narration i think the ur turntables belt have some problem.it may be become loosend. if not put the belt correctly. first insert the belt on the round circle underside the plater( metal table). the put it on the turntable by pulling the belt with ur finger through the hole on the platter , engage the belt with the motor pully( brass spindle ). then plug it and try .

Will not turn on

With the power cord getting hot it sounds like there is something up with the power supply section. Perhaps a faulty transformer or something.

When I push the start/stop button the turntable makes one revolution and stops. If I kept pushing the button eventually it would play but now, it will always stop immediately.

I'm assuming the player has a drive belt. Lift up the record mat and remove the rest of the turntable if you need to and see if the turntable drive belt is warped or has any kinks in it. The drive belts in those things are so long it could turn the table a little bit before the bad part gets snagged somewhere.

Technics sl 1210 will not start up

did you ever open the turntable. It sounds like the on/off switch is bad. Remove the platter and screws with a phillips screw driver and just make sure the connections are in place. make sure you disconnect the power first. let me know what happens afterwards.
