Same problem - no playback

Did you find a resolution??

I was actually replying to someone else's post, so maybe this doesn't make sense -
I have a Panasonic-PV-GS150 -- about 2 years old. Suddenly, it won't playback anything. Seems to be recording, but cannot play anything back. It's almost as though it's a foreign tape or something in it. It sounds like it's going forward and backwards as I push the buttons, but there is no recording data (date etc) that shows up, and the screen stays blue. As though there is nothing to playback. Thanks!

I am not trying to use the wrong type of tape. I am not receiving any kind of message regarding dirty heads.

    Thanks

If you attempt to play back file recorded in a
different format or file data is defective, the
    whole display becomes bluish.

Pls try using a different format of image.

    hope this help

If the heads become dirty, “NEED HEAD
    CLEANING” appears during recording. During
    playback, moreover, the following symptoms
    appear.
≥Mosaic-like noise appears partially or the
    sound is interrupted.
≥Black or blue mosaic-like horizontal stripes
    appear.
When normal playback cannot be performed
    even after the head cleaning
One possible cause is that normal recording
could not be performed because the heads were
dirty at the time of recording. Clean the heads,
and perform recording and playback again. If
normal playback can be performed, the heads are
clean. Before an important recording, be sure to
conduct a test recording to make sure that normal
    recording can be performed.
≥If the heads become dirty soon after cleaning,
the problem may be the tape. If so, try another
    cassette.
≥During playback, the picture or sound may be
interrupted momentarily, but this is not a
malfunction of the Camcorder. (One possible
cause is that the playback is interrupted by dirt
or dust that momentarily adheres to the heads.)

1920x1080 resolution is the starting point for HD video. If you have set your desktop resolution to that or anything avove then you should be running at HD resolutions. Maybe the image/video you are watching is not at a HD resolution, therefore it will appear distorted and streched (poor quality). To fully experience HD playback use video files and imaged that are at the 1920x1080 resolution and above.

What is the screen resolution to the sharp 32C540 ?

480i is the highest resolution of your tv. The tv has composite, s-video and component inputs in the back. The manual states that with component connections are dvd compatible allowing you to enjoy the highest quality image playback than using s-video. Dvd's resolution are 480i or 480p. I'm guessing it's more 480i than 480p since the tv is a crt tube tv and does not have any of the digital inputs for higher resolutions.

Samsung 920WM monitor - Color problems, "blotches"

The 920WM has a recommended resolution of 1440x900. If your display properties are set to a higher or lower resolution, there will be ugly effects on videos, photos and fine text.

If you're running WindowsXP, minimize your apps and web browser so you can see the background.
Right-click on the background and select "Properties" to bring up the display properties dialog.
In that dialog, select the "Settings" tab to see the display resolution.
Set that to 1440x900 if it's not already, then hit "OK"

If videos are still blotchy, then check the video playback software to make sure it's not setting it's own resolution.

If that helps, please be sure to hit the "thumbs-up" button for me.

If not, use "add comment" to fill in some more details (XP or Vista? What's the video playback software called? How are you viewing pictures?) and I'll do my best to help!
