TREO 755p, lost sound, only works when using as an mp3 player. My phone seems to think it's still plugged into the speakers and has no sound on it's own anymore....I've called Sprint, frustrating....chatted with Palm and they gave me a ### to call...wish me luck! Looks like this happens a lot.

I have the exact series of events as clm762. I plugged a wired headset into my 755p and lost all sound functions except for being able to hear through the wired headset. I also noticed the speaker phone icon that appears on the screen after initiating a call was no longer visible. Went to the sprint store and their diagnostic test said the phone was dead and replaced it for me.

Does anyone else know if the Palm Centro has any sort of problem like this one, i'm thinking of getting the Centro if this thing will rise up???
by the way, i already tried making 360 degres turn with the headphone jack inside it, and using compressed air to blow whatever is blocking the contact.
How about slamming it to the ground, will that work? lol

I had (have) this same problem. I plugged a cheap wired headset into the Palm Treo 755p and the phone lost audio in and out. I unplugged the headset and now the I cannot hear through the speaker or ear speaker and the microphone does not pick up my voice. I can still hear (sometimes) if I pug the headset (I bought a not-so-cheap Wired headset) into the phone BUT i cannot be heard on the other end.
I called Sprint support and they put me through the internal testing and when we got to the audio portion it indicated the external wired headset was not functioning properly and I would need to turn the phone in and get a new one. (this fix was way too easy - just say - turn it in).

I have lost & regained the audio on incoming/outgoing calls on my treo755p at least 4x. I have never plugged a headset into this phone. I loose the audio right after I sync with my PC. In the past I have had to delete/rename my palm backup folder, do a hard reset, then resync. This use to work. Now nothing is working. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the palm software, didn't help. I've tried a oneway sync (PC overwrites Palm), no good. Has anyone found a fix for this? Thanks, Nala

I have lost & regained my audio (outgoing & incoming calls) to my Treo755p 4x now. Each time it happens after I do a sync with my PC. I have had to delete (or rename) the backup folder on my PC, do a hard reset on the Treo755, then resync. This use to fix the problem, but it has happened again, and nothing I do is fixing it. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the palm software on my PC, didn't help. I tried a one way sync (PC overwrites Treo), no good. Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks, Swick

So I called Palm and told them the problem with the audio not functioning after receiving a call while I was listening to the mp3 player over a headset. They said there is a known problem and sent a new one which arrived the next day. I had lost the previous Palm headset wires and was using one I bought off Amazon. When the new phone arrived I tried the Palm headset. It didn't work at first, but it did the next day I could take a phone call with the headset. The regular audio and the speaker still does not work. I haven't switched to the new phone. I will try the hard reset to see if that will work once the new phone is switched on.

When I was listening to music on the headset a phone call came in and all the sudden the phone audio is lost. Best I can do is retrieve voice mails but no cenversations. This is the second Treo taht's done it to me. It happened with this device a month ago, then all the sudden it started working again. It's under warranty, but customer support is a major pain.
