I've been experiencing no audio when I make an outbound call or receive one.
Have you heard of this problem. it happened after I started using a wired headset.

Same Problem

May 05, 2009

-   No audio or voice when placing a call. Associated with using a wired ear piece. Hard reset fixed the first time, now it won't. Obvious Symptoms: no sound at power up or power off, and no option for speaker when connected.-   Guest

-   I have the same problem; just started today. Oddly enough, if I go to the preferences and change the song I want for a ringer, it will play that, but that is the only sound I can get out of any application. -   skree

-   I have the same problem, the people at the sprint store said it was because of corrosion and isn't covered under my protection plan because it must have gotten wet. They aren't taking into consideration that I live in Florida. A sub-tropical climate -   tjd809

Apr 24, 2009

-   It quits working. No in...No outgoing. I am now awaiting my 4th replacement in one year. Palm and Verizon must know they have a problem because this must be very costly to keep sending new phones.

Seems like they should move you to a different product like a Blackberry.-   SFjohnny

Apr 17, 2009

-   I plugged a wired headset into my 755p and lost all sound functions except for being able to hear through the wired headset. I also noticed the speaker phone icon that appears on the screen after initiating a call was no longer visible. I guess i'll be visiting the Sprint store like the others.-   red house

I killed two phones using a wired headset. The jack in the phone gets stuck (crappy connector) and the phone still thinks the headset is plugged in even when removed.

I have had this same problem from day one with my 755p. The issue is that the phone still thinks there is a headset plugged into it-even though there isn't one. I have heard it is because of poor welding. If you have the monthly protection plan you should be able to take it into a Sprint store and have them give you a new phone (I have done this twice now). For the meantime, you can stick a paperclip into the headset hole and toggle the switch. This is only a temporary fix. I have not heard of Sprint/Palm actually fixing the problem-it is probably cheaper for them just to give out new phones. I hope this helps...

I was talking to my wife using a headset on my way home when it disconnected suddenly & refused to establish contact again. Although it said I was connected, I couldn't hear anything. Been this way about five days till now. I was Just reading all of these Solutions, looked at my phone, & had the very savage & primitive idea of just blowing into the headset jack... hard. Well, I just dialed my voicemail. everything is working fine now, & looks like I'll be able to catch up, on all those calls i since last Saturday. Its not the most direct way of ACTUALLY fixing complicated electronic devices, but it sure was effective for me. worth a shot. :-/

Palm refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem despite the widespread posts on the internet about this specific issue!

I went through 4 Treo 650's, even sent one in to have some guy in California re-do the jacks. Worked for a while, then broke again. With the 755, I tried WD 40, and worked the jack in and out. Worked great for a while. Now I'm waiting for my replacement unit to show up. Jeezzz this gets old!!!

I have no great solutions other than what everyone and their brother will tell you which is to backup your information and do a hard reset. However, I've also experienced this now on my 3rd 755p in which the audio is no longer functioning on phone calls. I'll be calling Palm. I'll let you know if there's a better fix or what transpires.

TREO 755p, lost sound, only works when using as an mp3 player. My phone seems to think it's still plugged into the speakers and has no sound on it's own anymore....I've called Sprint, frustrating....chatted with Palm and they gave me a ### to call...wish me luck! Looks like this happens a lot.

I have the exact series of events as clm762. I plugged a wired headset into my 755p and lost all sound functions except for being able to hear through the wired headset. I also noticed the speaker phone icon that appears on the screen after initiating a call was no longer visible. Went to the sprint store and their diagnostic test said the phone was dead and replaced it for me.

Does anyone else know if the Palm Centro has any sort of problem like this one, i'm thinking of getting the Centro if this thing will rise up???

by the way, i already tried making 360 degres turn with the headphone jack inside it, and using compressed air to blow whatever is blocking the contact.

How about slamming it to the ground, will that work? lol

I had (have) this same problem. I plugged a cheap wired headset into the Palm Treo 755p and the phone lost audio in and out. I unplugged the headset and now the I cannot hear through the speaker or ear speaker and the microphone does not pick up my voice. I can still hear (sometimes) if I pug the headset (I bought a not-so-cheap Wired headset) into the phone BUT i cannot be heard on the other end.

I called Sprint support and they put me through the internal testing and when we got to the audio portion it indicated the external wired headset was not functioning properly and I would need to turn the phone in and get a new one. (this fix was way too easy - just say - turn it in).

I have lost & regained the audio on incoming/outgoing calls on my treo755p at least 4x. I have never plugged a headset into this phone. I loose the audio right after I sync with my PC. In the past I have had to delete/rename my palm backup folder, do a hard reset, then resync. This use to work. Now nothing is working. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the palm software, didn't help. I've tried a oneway sync (PC overwrites Palm), no good. Has anyone found a fix for this? Thanks, Nala

I have lost & regained my audio (outgoing & incoming calls) to my Treo755p 4x now. Each time it happens after I do a sync with my PC. I have had to delete (or rename) the backup folder on my PC, do a hard reset on the Treo755, then resync. This use to fix the problem, but it has happened again, and nothing I do is fixing it. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the palm software on my PC, didn't help. I tried a one way sync (PC overwrites Treo), no good. Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks, Swick

So I called Palm and told them the problem with the audio not functioning after receiving a call while I was listening to the mp3 player over a headset. They said there is a known problem and sent a new one which arrived the next day. I had lost the previous Palm headset wires and was using one I bought off Amazon. When the new phone arrived I tried the Palm headset. It didn't work at first, but it did the next day I could take a phone call with the headset. The regular audio and the speaker still does not work. I haven't switched to the new phone. I will try the hard reset to see if that will work once the new phone is switched on.

When I was listening to music on the headset a phone call came in and all the sudden the phone audio is lost. Best I can do is retrieve voice mails but no cenversations. This is the second Treo taht's done it to me. It happened with this device a month ago, then all the sudden it started working again. It's under warranty, but customer support is a major pain.
