If your monitor has speakers built in, then you need to run a lead from your soundcard on the computer to a audio port on the monitor. It is normally hidden away near where the video cables etc plug in under the back of the monitor.

Hi .. i have just bought a logitech x 530 speaker and only 2 of the speaker parts work .. can you please give me some solution advice?

Hi names Rui i like to help you by giving you step by step instruction in propely hocking up your logitech speakers:

Instructions

1. Connect the black plug of the rear right speaker into the black plug on the subwoofer.

2. Connect the yellow plug on the rear left speaker into the yellow input on the subwoofer.

3. Connect the red plug of the front center speaker into the red input on the subwoofer.

4. Connect the white plug of the front left speaker into the white input on the subwoofer.

5. Connect the d-sub connector plug from the front right speaker into the d-plug connector on the subwoofer.

6. Connect the green, black and orange input to the matching plugs on your computer. If you have a four-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the front plug of the card and the black plug to the rear plug. Do not connect the orange input. If you are using a two-channel sound card, connect the green plug from the input audio cable to the "Line Out" jack on the sound card. Do not connect the green and orange plug.

7. Plug the subwoofer power chord into the electrical power outlet.

8. Place your subwoofer on ground around your computer desk. Position the front center speaker on top of your computer monitor.

9. Place the left and right front speakers on the sides of the monitor. Position the left and right rear speakers behind you, making sure they are pointing toward the front left and right speakers.

10. needs to support 5.1 surround. Normally, more than three sockets for sound indicates that it does. Then you need to use the software that comes with the sound hardware to configure it for 5.1 - Default will be 2.1 or just 2.
Check the control panel out. This is a lot easier under Windows 7.- Here you can access what you need via the speaker icon on the system tray (right click)
There is NO problem with your OS or hardware, this is pretty standard...

hope this will help you solve your problem.

Cant figure out how to hook them up

Two audio input cables are supplied with the speakers. If your computer has a stereo mini jack, use the cable with a stereo mini plug. Otherwise, use the cable with RCA plugs on both ends. Match the colors on the connectors to the colors on the jacks, red to red and white to white.
The speaker cable is already attached at one end to the accessory speaker. Plug the other end into the TO ACCESSORY SPEAKER jack on the powered speaker.
1. Connect one end of the audio input cable to AUDIO INPUTS A. 2. Connect the other end to your computer's AUDIO OUTPUT jack. We recommend using LINE OUT if your computer sound card offers more than one option. 3. To connect a separate CD-ROM, or another source, repeat steps 1 and 2 using AUDIO INPUTS B.
You must connect the AC power pack to operate the speakers. 1. Plug its cable end into the power jack on the powered speaker. 2. Plug the power pack blades into the wall outlet. 3. Turn on your computer sound source or external sound source.

We connected our z 5300 speaker to a new computer. and get no. sound. Is there a driver that needs to be installed. the last computer no longer works.

Did you open your speaker ICON and check to see that you don't have the audio muted? I have seen a lot of customers complain that their NEW speakers don't work but they have their audio set to mute.

  • Make sure your speakers are correctly connected to your computer.

On your speakers, find the cable that plugs into your computer. Make sure that the speaker cable is plugged into the speakers and the correct jack on the computer. For example, if the cable is a 1/8 inch cable, there should be a round jack for it on the back of the computer. If it is a USB cable, it will plug into any USB port on your computer.

  • If the music in your library skips or the audio breaks up when you play it inWindows Media Player, there might be a problem with the audio driver installed on your computer. Typically, this type of problem only occurs toward the end of songs (in the last 20 seconds or so).

In some cases, you can work around the problem by disabling optional speaker effects that are collectively known as enhancements. If disabling speaker effects solves the problem, you might need to update your audio driver.

My lap sound problem..

Some things you need to check

1. Cable connection of the speaker to your computer and the power cable if its plug in correctly. Normally the Audio cable of the speaker is plugged into the green audio port on the computer.

2. You speaker is on mute. Check the speaker icon located on the lower left side of you desktop. If its on mute then try to un-mute the volume and test the speaker.

3. The driver is not installed properly. Check the device manager if there is a Question/Exclamation mark on the Audio devices.

4 If everything are Ok. try to plug the Audio cable of the speaker to any of your Portable sound devices like Ipod. If that still does not work then you need to replace the soundbar. Contact Dell for a free replacement if still under warranty.

Thank you.. Hope this helps..

may be you have not installed the audio drivers.... if not then so install it & then try it will work..
if it is installed then check whether the audio cable from speakers to the cpu is correctly connected to audio jack in the cpu..(u must connect to green audio port)
check whether the power supply of the speakers is given r not...
check whether the power button of the speaker is on ....

if the same problem persists then there may be miscontact inside the speaker (if the speaker is showing green light when it is on means then there is no power supply cable problem else there may be power supply cable problem try changing it )
else
may be the capacitor inside the speaker is gone
if the problem persists then
take the speakers to technician ....

Sound in right speaker only

Do you have stereo headphones available? If so, try plugging the headphones into the computer. If both headphone speakers work then the problem is either in the monitor or the audio cable. If only the right headphone speaker works, then the problem is in the computer....probably a bent or broken contact in the audio output jack, or perhaps an incorrectly placed sound jumper on the motherboard.

Try to find another sound jack...for example, if you're using the sound jack on the rear panel...is there another one on the front of the computer?

Are you using the correct type of stereo sound cable? There should be three metal electrical contacts on the sound connector....a metal tip, a separate metal ring, and the metal sleeve. If there is only a metal tip and a metal sleeve with no ring...then you're using a "mono" cable that will only support one speaker.

If the cable and computer are ok, then your monitor probably has a problem with it's left speaker. You'll need to take it to a qualified computer or tv repair technician to track down the exact cause and repair it.
