I have a Duo-Therm roof top. The compressor wont shut off. When the stat is satisfied the fan stops but not the compressor. I pulled the metal control box but didnt see a real set of contacts. Trace the wires from the compressor back to where they come from. They should be coming from a contactor or from the circuit board. It's possible the relay is built into the circuit board (it will look like a little black box on the board. Let me know what you find.

Hi, to find out if its your control thermostat, just pull off the cover, and disconnect the wires. It should just right off. If it does, the stat is faulty. If it continues to run, I would go up top and check the contactor to see if the contacts are welded together. This does happen. This way you will know if its the stat, or something else going on. Please keep me posted, and I will get back to you a.s.a.p.

PS, you will not get shocked by the wires at the stat, very, very low voltage!

Hi; You still have a loose connection somewhere. I have found just recently a problem with a customer with the same problem He had burnt wiring at the compressor terminals. Also check to see if the fan on top of R.V. is running when the inside fan is running they are connected together on the same motor up top. Also check for a dirty condensor coil this can cause the compressor to fail out on thermal overload...alpharome416

Duo-therm 13500 roof a c compressor will not stop running when temp is met however fan does stop

Sounds like a bad thermostat switch, (stuck close--or in run position).

Duo therm roof top a/c

Sounds like 1 of 3. Blower motor capacitor, relay or thermostat. Try to run fan only if that is an option and see.
