I have a sansa e 250 2gb. It worked fine for about a month but know when i try to connect it to the computer it says on the sansa it is, but it won't charge and my computer just says unknown device. I'm running windows XP, ans I've tried a few things but nothing seems to work.
What u could do is delete sansa e 250 program and then reinstall it with ur cd that u got with the mp3 player see if that works if doesn't work then make readjustment on ur hard drive, try to see if it will detect it if u try on another computer...

ok..Well try plugging it in 2 the computer,..try both slots..and flip the cord over and put it in. If it doesnt work..Then go to whatever store you got it from and then yu can trade it in for another 1..hope this works for you
perform recovery mode on the player and create a file named sansa.fmt
and put that file in the 16 MB format that should reformat the whole
player after you have put that file in the drive and unplugged the
player from the computer. After that has been done try to update the
firmware of the player.
I still don't know why the Sansa Clip deleted my songs, but I was able to get it connected to my computer after switching the USB Mode (In the settings selection) to a different setting. I don't understand how or why it worked, it just did. (My computer runs on Windows XP so I don't know if this solution will work on other computers)
I had this problem a few months ago, what is wrong is, you have a bad driver, something that you can do is switch the USB mode, this should work. If you have tried to the driver and switch the USB mode and it still doesn't work, then let me know.
i have had my Sansa e260 for about 6 months and while i was listening to a song it kept saying Bad track , Bad track , i got worried so i shut it off. Now its alsost like the power button is being held in it keeps showing the screen that comes on when you turn it on. When i plug it into my computer it doesnt even show up on the Monitor. i dont know what happened to it or how to fix it. Please HELP!!
try recovery mode. to do this just connect it to your computer and push the hold button so the orange is showing. next push and hold the record button and the power button. it should go into recovery mode.
Have you tried recharging the battery? If it is not showing when you connect it to your computer, try holding down the Menu/On-Off button for 15 - 30 seconds and see if it goes on.
If you need a new battery this is a good place to get one:
