Your S.M.A.R.T. is reading the attributes on your read only storage.

enter BIOS and under smart=disable
run a good diagnostic on the hard drive to determine any problems.
SMART just tells you of suspected problems or when things are beyond normal limits.

To access the drive you may have to re-install the OS in another area of the hard drive. Back-up all data and after getting a new drive reinstall.

You need a new hard drive. This error means your drive is on it's way out - it is not fixable, it can only be replaced. If I were you, I would copy as much data off the laptop as you can to either another computer or to an external drive as soon as possible and get the drive replaced now before it dies completely.
If you take it to a place that knows what it is doing, they could clone the disk to your replacement drive before it completely fails, but don't trust anyone to do this before taking a copy of all the data off yourself.
Ask yourself how much your photos, music, documents etc are worth to you!?!

Hi Vasava,
Before solving your problem.
Q.1. Is it only happening for this single document? Try to open other documents too. If you can open other word docs, you can eliminate the issue with Win Word application problem. The problem is in your document itself. If you can't open any other word docs, than this is the application problem.
Q.2 This is for Win Word application problem. Can you find "Microsoft Office Application Recovery" under "Start menu-->All Program-->Microsoft Office-->Microsoft Office Tools". Try recovering your application with this tool. It solve my problem with Ms Excel.
Q.3 Do you have Ms Office setup cd with you. This is if the above 2 fails. You will need to reinstall Ms Office.

My guess for you problem is, you have a defected document file.
Please try the above and let me know, if I can help further.

My laptop shut down when using webcamera

try reinstall the camera driver from support site. If not solved update your BIOS. Remove all externally connected device and CDs, DVDs before updating BIOS. Remember to plug in AC adapter also. IMPORTANT: Do not interrupt the BIOS updating process. Read the instructions in the support site before doing any driver install or update.
If the above didn't solve the problem then you need to consult a good LAPTOP Chiplevel technician to get that solved.
Hope this helps.

I cant get my disk out of my xps m1330 laptop what do I do?

Have you tried using the Eject button on the controls above the Function keys on your Dell XPS M1330 laptop to eject the disk from the optical drive?

If the above does not solve the problem then you may need to refer to the Service Manual for your XPS M1330 which has information on how to remove and replace the Optical drive if this has failed.

This is Francis, please can you help me solve a problem with my dvd rom? It cannot read any more

Hi s_francis_sb ,

The problem could be because of the following reasons :-

  • Dirty lens of your dvd rom
In the above case you need to get a lens cleaner from the market and get your dvd ROM drive cleaned with it, some lens cleaners have an inbuilt audio file of a specific length which has music in it , to indicate whether you are done with your cleaning or not.

  • Bad lens of your drive
In the above case you need to either get your lens replaced or get a new drive assembled in your laptop via an able service center , or an authorised service center.
Usually this problem is because of dirty lens , and I hope your problem will get solved as a result of cleaning of the lens.

Hopet his helps ...:)

To work around the above issues, one of the below solutions could prove helpful:usb-device-not-recognized.jpg
  • Unsecure or Loose Connection
Unplug the presently connected USB device (if any). It is quite possible that the connection is not secure and has become loose. Re-plug the USB device tightly and firmly into the USB port. This is one of the most common reasons for an error in detecting a USB device.
  • Scan for Hardware Changes in Device Manager
Use the Device Manager to scan for new and recently installed hardware. From the Start menu, select the Run option. In the pop up box, type in Devmgmt.msc and then click Ok. From the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes. This will make Windows scan & recognize any new devices that are installed. Now, close all opened device managers and control panels. Now, follow the above step and see if your computer detects the USB device.
  • USB Hub Power Management
Disable power management of the USB hub. To disable the power management on the USB hub, follow these steps; Click Start, and then click Run. Type devmgmt.msc in the popup box, and then click Ok. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers' node, and then follow these steps for each USB Root Hub that is listed.
    1. Right-click the USB Root Hub and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Power Management tab.
    3. Click to clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click Ok.

Sometimes, simply unplugging the USB device and turning off the computer for twenty minutes and then restarting may solve the issue. If none of the above options have solved the problem, check the manufacturer's website for new driver information. It is possible that your drivers need to be updated. There could also be a possibility of hardware failure, which needs to be checked by a hardware expert.

Find 3 consecutive integers such that twice the least minus the greatest is 18

Let X be the smallest integer.
Let Y (equal to X+1) be the second integer.
Let Z (equal to X+2) be the third integer.

Then 2*X +0*Y- Z = 18

Substituting: 2*X - (X+2) = 18
Associative: (2*X - X) + 2 = 18
Substraction: X = 16
Solve for Y.
Solve for Z.

Note: check my work -- there *MAY* be an error in the above mathematics. :-)

My hp g60 cursor doesent move at all.

If the cursor doesn't move when using the touchpad, make sure the touchpad is turned on. There is a button right above the touchpad with five lit-up dots above it. If the dots are white, the touchpad is enabled -- if they are orange, the touchpad is turned off.

Hope that solves your problem!
