Nokia N70 problems with phone ring

I'm having problems with my Nokia N70. I used to be able to set the ring tone/text message tone to anything I wanted. Now though, it seems to have this preset video tone that no matter what I try, I can't get rid of. I have not downloaded this tone, have no clue where it came from. No matter how many times I try to go in and change the settings I can't get rid of it. Any advice you can give me to get rid of this??

Find the name of the file/ringtone got to file manager locate it and delete it. Or run an Anti Virus program like McAfee or Symantec.
You may have installed a program on your phone, that automatically installed this tone to load on all profiles.

How do I adjust the volume, too LOUD?

Hello jinniq51,

i have some tips on how to do it hope it helps :D

Settings
In this menu, you can adjust various phone
settings. To reset some menu settings to their
default values, select Restore factory set.
Tone settings
Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings and from the available
options:
Ringing tone-To set the tone for incoming calls
Ringing volume-To set the volume level for the ringing and
message alert tones. If you set Ringing volume to be level 2 or
above, your phone rings with the ringing volume ascending
from level 1 to the level you have set when there is an
incoming call.
Vibrating alert-To set the phone to vibrate when you receive a
call or a text message
Message alert tone-To set the tone to sound when you receive
a text message
Warning tones-To set the phone to sound tones, for example,
when the battery is running out of power

When i receive a text message my nokia E72 doesnt ring, what could be the problem?

Does the phone ring when you receive an incoming call? If so, press Menu go to Control Panel (or might be the profile is shown in the menu) after control panel, Profile then Options and then Personalize, then, scroll down and again select Message Alert Tone, set the Tone for the message. Also make sure that the volume is turned up. Save the settings and try again. If this doesn't help and you don't hear any ring tone during an incoming call, let me know after checking the sound settings.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have Nokia 1661-A and model: 1661-2b. When

I had the same problem with mine. when I would go to tone settings every time I tried to hit ring tone it would turn off the phone and restart, by the way in ring tone it was blank. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. So I went to settings then restore factory settings entered the code. It reset the factory settings, then when I went back to tone settings the ring tone said Nokia Tune so I hit enter and it gave a list of all other ring tones, then it worked so my phone finally rings.... Hope it works for you.

Problem

Hi,

For you to get the Nokia tone to ring you can just go and restore factory settings, this feature you are going to get in the Menu > Settings.

Just restore to factory setting and you would have the nokia tone back up.

Assigning ringtones to a profile

If you set the profile ring tone to OFF. Then select a contacts' number and assign it a Ring Tone. When that contact calls you the Ring Tone you assigned will ring.
If you select the same Ring Tone for all your contacts in a group they will all sound the same when they call.
Or select the same ring tone for a profile, but cancel the Tone you assigned to the contact(s).
