Help turned off the tv early today and have just tried to turn it on and ----nothing. No stand by light. Have plugged into another socket and tried the fuse from the plug in another appliance, no problem.
The t.v. is approximately 18 months old.

There maybe a switch in the back of your tv.... behind the cover where you LCD lamp goes.... make sure you have put the cover back on correctly... there may be a blue switch and it is touchy.... try that and if that is not the problem .... it may be time to replace your tv lamp. :) It is not hard find your band on the internett and have the mail it to you....... it is easy to install. :)
The flyback transformer will need to be checked as these are the culprits when you get the flashing light in the frount. also whatwould need to be checked is the 240V Capacitor inside to make sure that its in order as well.
I have a Sony SRS BBE Trinitron (WEGA). The last few days when I tried to turn it on using the remote the Red Light would go on but the TV did not turn on. I would have to press the power button again to turn it on.. I tought the remote battery was just low.
Today when I tried to turn it on nothing is happening and the Red Light is blinking 9 times ??? I tried to unplug it and try it again, still does the same thing ???
life safty should be 1st priorty before opening of TV set ;)
if you are skilled or qualifeid, then go-ahead and
if its Sony TV, you will see stand-by light blinking while tv try to power up. let me know how many time this light blinks.
While I was reading some other post about this problem, one guy said to try using a hairdryer on the right side of the TV for a few minutes to dry out humidity, becuse the trinitron has some kind of feature that causes it to 'protect itself' when too much humidity is in the air. Hmmmmm sounded silly, but we had nothing to lose and tried it. Lo and behold, our TV is back on.
