how do i reset my camera?

  • Hollyce Mar 31, 2009

When I try to turn my camera on, the lens sounds like it catches on something and then it doesn't open. Then, the LCD says turn power on and off again, which prompts the same sequence of events. I talked to a friend of mine who is a photography major and she said the same thing happened to her cybershot and apparently it's really common with them. Great job Sony!

Two ways to do this

  1. in the setup menu their is a reset camera if you cannot find it your firmware needs to be updated.
  2. next take out the batteries for 24 hr that will also reset the camera to a point only.

I just received a Canon Powershot a95 aiaf due to a death in the family. I am able to view photos already taken but every photo I seem to take comes out completely black. I have a canon that is much...

The A95 is actually a very good camera. But this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.

What is frame number reset on my sanyo vpc-s1085. I read the manual and the answer is vague. what is it for do I cancel or execute? I'm also trying to find out how to let the numbers for the...

If you decide to reset the numbers, your camera will start numbering the new pictures from 000 all over again. This can cause problems when you try to download because your computer will think you've already downloaded pics with those numbers. Don't reset....your camera will continue to number the pics consecutively even after you download and empty the card.

After clearing the SD card of all pictures, how do I get the picture number to read 0?

I'm not into reading manuals, so I can't be sure if that information is there.

You may want to go into the Menu, then select Tools, and either Reset the camera or Format the Internal Memory.

*** There are no warnings when attempting to Reset the camera, but several warnings are displayed when attempting to Format the Internal Memory.

I've never tried it, so don't know which you want to try first.

I don't know my password for my dsi

All you need to do is to perform a hard reset on the system. To reset your DSi, just take out the battery for about 10mins and when you re-insert it, the password should be gone.
