Reinstall the OS and restore from the most recent backup you have...
Download the OS file to your PC then install it to your PC by double clicking the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.") 2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the vendor.xml file. 3. Plug in your BB to a usb port and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same folder as the above vendor.xml file.
Don't disconnect your BB unless you get an error message, or you get a completed message. Some of the upgrade steps take a while, and it may appear to have stalled or stopped, but it has not. Be patient, and let the update load (30 - 45 minutes).
On the BlackBerry smartphone, the 523 app. error Reset error message appears after pressing the Mute button, accessing an application, or performing a hard reset:
To resolve this issue, first perform a hard reset.
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone. 2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds. 3) Replace the battery cover.
If this does not resolve the issue, the BlackBerry Device Software must be re-installed.
Note: The BlackBerry smartphone will not show a Connected state in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Proceed to open and run the application loader tool.
If BlackBerry Desktop Manager cannot connect to the BlackBerry smartphone, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the battery and run loader.exe from
C:\program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.
2. Remember to reinsert the battery after the loading operations begin.
I Hope it helped you.

Microsoft provides a patch that will need to be applied to the Exchange Server. This patch can be found at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/usa/nt40/hotfixes-postSP4/Rnr-fix/rnr-fixi.exe.
The server will need to be rebooted. The end user should then be able to connect using the IMAP4 client.
Email synch is based on current MAPI preferences.
The problem you have is that the VersaMail conduit assumes your mail client must be the MAPI default email client. You could adopt another profile in Outlook instead of OExpress which picks up the account you use in OE. This is the first instance of this problem I have ever heard of so I doubt if PalmOne would make a software change on this.
