Settings have been changed.

One of my children, or their friends have messed with the monitors settings. It has somehow been changed from a wide screen view to a standard view (square). I have figured out how to get to the menu but can't figure out how to choose things on the menu.

It may not be the monitor. Check the resolution settings in your graphics properties. If your running windows right click on the desktop, select properties, choose the settings tab at top of the window and you will see a slider on the lower left of the window. Move the slider until you see 1680 x 1050. Select apply, select OK in the confirmation box and you should get your full wide screen back.

Monitor is not showing the display after booting.

Hello!

Yes you have change the settings of your display to a higher resolution and your monitor is not compatible with that setting, to fix this you can bring your system unit to a friend or neighbor who has a computer and try changing it if your friends monitor is capable or compatible with your display settings. Or if you have other monitor you can swap it.

Hope I was able to help.

How to change your Windows XP display settings

1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties

2. Click on the Settings tab

3. In the Screen Resolution section you can adjust the resolution to what your video card and monitor can support.

Note with wide screen monitors you will be able to select non wide screen resolutions so you may need to adjust the settings to get the best resolution for your monitor. Also it is recommended that you install any drivers for your monitor so that the video card can communicate to the monitor properly for the best display settings.

Acer wide screen monitor 20'' font and images all

Right click on the desktop in a clear area and scroll down to either resolution or properties. From this you can experiment with resolution settings to see which setting best fits your display. After each setting change the computer will ask you if you want to accept the changes, it will give you 15 seconds for each change.

Go to Control Panel - - - - - - -> Personalizaton- - - - - - -> Display Settings.

Their you get the option of changing your Display Resolution as per your requirement.

I think 1440 x 900 will be the optimum settings for your monitor.

How can I make fonts look good in an LCD monitor ?

The VGA connection should be fine; I have DVI and when I switched from analog, the difference was pretty minimal, to my eyes.

Is it just the fonts that are blurry, or everything? If fonts only, then this almost certainly suggests that running the ClearType tuner again would solve the problem. But this applies to all displays, so if one is good and the other is not, then this isn't it.

If everything is a little blurry, then this suggests one of two problems -- the first, you report trying, which is that the display adapter is set to a different resolution than the native resolution of the LCD monitor itself. Your display adapter should probably be able to drive 2 monitors (the built-in laptop monitor and the external monitor) at once. You should be able to set their resolutions separately.

Assuming Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > at which point, you should see two monitors listed in a dropdown. Set them to their native resolutions there (using the slider bar, usually all the way to the right), and save.

If you do have the display resolutions set to their native resolutions for both monitors, then it's possible that your external monitor is messed up. A quick test would be to run the on-screen settings, usually from a button on the monitor itself. If what is displayed there is sharp and what is displayed from Windows is not, then this points to a problem with the display driver. If everything, even the on-screen display is blurry, then perhaps the monitor settings are messed up -- usually there's an option to restore to factory settings -- try that.

If that doesn't work, I'm probably out of ideas, unless you have further information.

How to stretch screen compaq tft5015

Right click the desktop - select graphic properties - you should have the option to stretch to fit or something like that. This could also be that your resolution doesnt match your monitor. usual wide screen monitor defaults are 1280/1024 or 1400/1068.. have a mess around and alter these - see which one fits.

Monitor settings

hi swalle1, it sounds like you display settings have been changed, to fix this when your computer has finished starting right click a space on the desktop where there are no icons, then click on properties, a pop up will appear, at the top you will see tabs choose the Settings tab, now in the middle of the screen to the left you will a box on the called screen resolution with a slider, place your mouse on the slider and slide it the left till it says 1024x768 then click apply, now this may not be the setting you use as you may have a wide screen but this is default setting to get you started, you can slide that slider till you get the right setting back either to the right for higher resolution or the left lower.
I hope this helps but if it does please let me know.
