Usually caused by a bad engine card, however in some cases it might be fixed by updating the firmware. You will need to contact Lexmark to get the update file. Please keep in mind that some Lexmark firmware updates will make it difficult to use remanufactured cartridges, but if the printer does not work right now you have nothing to lose.

Firstly, switch on the printer without a cartridge inside. Put in the old cartridge and if you get the Error 32, it could be poor contact. Clean the contacts in the printer (contact with the chip on the cartridge). If you don't get Error 32, there could be a problem with the chip contacts on the new OEM Lexmark cartridge or a faulty chip. As for other brands or remanufactured cartridges, it could be compatible parts they used. The chip and toner wheel have to be compatible.
