Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook

1 Answer

Wireless connection Purchased new notebook. I cannot connect to the internet. Notebook identifies a strong signal from wireless router. Also shows "wireless networks are available" Trouble shooting shows 1) Plug a cable into net adapter local area connection 2) View wireless network . Button on side of notebook for wireless mini card is turned to the on position. But does not light up signal light. Should it? Went to: tools-options-advanced...both SSL and TLS are enabled. Do I need an adapter if it has the wireless mini card??

My Fujitsu wont stay connected to my wireless internet

Maybe the wireless card in the laptop is no good or not strong enough to receive a good strong signal. Try sitting close to the wireless router and see if it loses connection. Does it connect at all and let you on the internet before it loses the signal? If it does not connect at all I'd say you might have an issue with the password or the type of wireless security protocol type you selected to connect with. For example there are different types of wifi security protocol types: (Ex. wep, wpa, wpa2) .

Samsung NC10 will not connect to any network

If WLAN and Wireless cards are enabled, then you may have to unplug your router for 10 seconds to reset it. They tend to build up a static charge. Unplug wireless router for 10 seconds, plug back in and you should be fine in a minute or two with full connectivity

you will need to purchase an adapter from your isp to use with your new notebook.

A modem or wifi router will still need to be connected to an ISP service.

No internet access with new Linksys wireless PCI Adapter

Don .bin is a firmware that can upload to the linksys router or any router.

So it seems that your unable to connect wirelessly using the linksys adapter? The Internet connection before is working properly?

*I might advise you to reinstall the driver of your wireless adapter using the latest driver that you can download in there support site.

- Check the Internet connection hardwired to the router if connection works it seems that problem is on the adapter.

Try resetting your IP address:
The laptop may be trying to use the IP address from the old router.

1) Click Start (assuming Windows 2000, XP, or Vista)
2) Click Run
3) Type in CMD
This will take you to a black command box
4) Type in: ipconfig/release
The chart should show your IP address as 0.0.0.0
Once this has happened, proceed to step 5
5) Type in: ipconfig/renew
You should now see a new IP address listed.

Also note that you need to set up your network key (assuming that you are using one) on both the router and laptop.
Make sure that your router is set up to perform as DHCP server.
