Question about Fujitsu LIFEBOOK C2210A (AKA0F0A00B001000) PC Notebook
I tried to boot up and i received a message no OS found.
I thought i had a bad hard drive so purchased a new one, but i get the same message.
I connected the old hard drive to a desktop and i can see all the info in it, hard drive is good.
I believe that maybe the hard drive isn't getting power.
The BIOS recognizes the hard drive, but not in DOS, C: not valid
There is another option that is free or nearly so.Take a look at this operating system. http://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=17 It's called linux and you can buy a CD for next for next to nothing plus shipping.What's great about this OS is there are very few virus written because it is open source.I have wubi on my win 7 laptop and it runs faster than windows.Tons of free applications and it looks like a Mac OS.They used to send free install disks but now you have to bye a 5 pack.The store is in UK.I don't know how much the CD will cost but it will be way cheaper than windows 7.As a guess maybe $15.00

The new hard drive will not have an OS on it until you install one, so expect a no OS found message.
The old hard dirve may have lost its master boot record or the boot cylinder is bad.
You mentioned DOS. Do you have bootable DOS diskettes available?
First plug the old drive into the desk top and copy off any data you wish to save.
Depending on the operating system on the desktop and utilities available you might be able to recreate the master boot record on the old drive. Be very careful you know which drive is which or you could cause problems with the desktop drive.
You might also be able to run DISK MANAGER and test the drive for errors.
If you can boot the DOS diskettes the command you need to run is FDISK /MBR with the old hard drive installed.
