There is a focuing ring with electromagnets on it, and it swivels to focus. When sand, dirt, lint, or dust works its way into the lens assembly, it can get stuck, failing to focus. Spray some compressed air into the lens area to try to dislodge it. Then bump it gently if the compressed air doesn't work. Here is a list of things you can try for a jammed lens: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html If these don't work, your focus ring is jammed and you will have to fix it or have it serviced. Get an estimate first, since the cost of repair often justifies buying a new camera. Good luck, these tips might help you.
Its a problem of the lens. Some how lens focus ring not move properly internal side. Replacing the lens is only solution. But before that try to clean the external body of the lens & sensor. Sensor position is just side of the flash light. After cleaning try again & let me know. Thanks.
Hello, This happens quite often and the bad news is it is not worth the cost of repair, the good news is you can sell it on E-Bay for parts and by a good used one to replace it.If you buy a good used DX6490 you can still use your battery, charger, and other items from your old camera. I have several very nice DX6490 units that I sell. Best Regards, Russell firstname.lastname@example.org
Fuji uses a 16MB xD card with
the camera, which won't hold too many 4 Megapixel photos
at the highest quality setting. So you should plan
on buying a larger card right away. xD cards are currently
available as large as 1GB, and I think 128MB is a good
starter size for most people. Be warned that xD cards
tend to be more expensive than CompactFlash and SD
Have you changed the settings in the camera? When are you getting this problem? Is it when you try to shoot in low light?Does it appear like the pictures are shaken or is it out of focus? If they are shaken, use a higher ISO to shoot. If it appears out of focus, first check the lens for some smears. Clean the lens with a clean dry cotton cloth.
Check if there is fungus on the lens (this appears like spider's web or crack marks). If there is fungus, or you are still getting pctures blurred, take it to an authorized service center.
It will be a repair shop job to do properly and will cost - lots
So bearing in mind the the mechanism is very delicate and the drop may have wrecked it anyway you have nothing to lose I feel in trying very very gently giving the partially out lens a little tug- you cant break it worse thats for sure
Try it--------- Then go buy another camera ;-}
NO, the battry cannot have make this occur!!
its sound like the memory card is retired!
borrow 1 from anybody just to see if it works
and then buy a new 1
is the image blurred when you download the pic to the computer?
if not - its only the LCD how distorded the pic - it dosent matter
if soo your lens is bad - it needs a fix
