Gas meter was changed upon relighting,top burners...

it is a 1950,s clare-jewel gas stove,gas was turned offfor approx.20 min. i lite the 2 pilots for the burners,then went to light stove and nothing .can not hear gas or smell ,im confussed any help would be appreciated
