Hi, I just installed a TLP2844 and ran the Dump to ensure it was in Page mode. I created a file from the documentation example (B10,10,0,3,3,7,200,B,"998152-001") but when I print it, the label comes out "as is" rather than with the barcode interpreted. (so it just prints B10,10 ... etc)

Re: TLP 2844 won't print barcodes
The printer is in line mode. Do the following to take it out of line mode: Turn printer power off. Hold the feed button while turning printer power on. When the light starts flashing, release the feed button. When the light starts flashing again, press and hold the feed button. When the light turns steady amber, release the feed button. When the light turns steady green, the mode is changed. Verify the mode by printing and inspecting a status report.
This requires good timing and may take several tries. You'll know it worked if no labels are reeled out after you're done.
Hi. To use the B,1,2, etc settings you must have the printer as a "generic / text only" If not, windows tries to print system fonts..
To print a label: open driverproperties find the tab for "barcode" create a barcode "name" and select what barcode and settings it should match. The "name" now shows up on your client as a dummy font, select in word or any other windows application and you print a barcode.

The firmware download utility program comes on the CD supplied with the printer. Use this to download the firmware file to the printer. Check on the zebra website for the latest firmware file. (You should be able to download the Download utility program from the website also. (Steady red may indicate that the printer is set to the incorrect operating mode. Check that you have the correct setting in your printer driver - Thermal Transfer if you use a ribbon, Direct Thermal if not) Easiest way to check is to insert a ribbon and see if printer works)
