Question about HP LaserJet 2420dn Printer
Recently had an HPLaserJet 2420 start printing incorrect page ranges in Word 2003, shaving margins in Lotus notes and both range and shaving problems in MS Excel 2003. We are running MS WINXP sp2. Mcaffee virus scan. I have two other identical printers that are not acting up using PCL 6 driver. I have worked around the problem with a PS, PCL and HP1200 driver each on different applications. The goal is to get back to one driver for all and maybe even figure out the cause.
I have found the solution. Quite simple. In the printers properties box select the general tab. Click on the on the printing preferences button. Selecting the Paper/Quality tab, observe the Print Task quick sets. These all need to have Default print settings selected. In our case, they were not. This enabled all applications to print correctly once again.

Tips for a great answer:
The page margins appear in your document as dotted lines.
You can use these dotted lines to correct your margins so that your student's assignments are not cut off and there is no large margin as you have mentioned in your question.
You can view page margins in either Print Layout or Web Layout view only, and they do not appear on the printed page.
Hope this helps
