There is a small seel on the back of the transfercase, simply remove the drive shaft, use a seal puller to pull the seal and use a rubber mallet to work a new one in, the seal will be less then $10Cnd and then top of the transfer case with the approriate fluid. This is also a good time to inspect the U-Joints on the rear drive shaft. You should be able to borrow a seal puller from most auto parts store. This is a really really easy thing to do.. Just ask for the rear transfercase output shaft seal.
Also the other pictures -- I'd take a serious look at your outter tie rod end there it may need some attention.
Allthough I highly doubt any of these problems will relate to your current problems, by they should be attented to.
my cherokee is not starting.I have already check fuses,and they are all good.i change the computer and nothing same problem. it seems that there is no eharge in the fuel pump either in spark plugs. i have also check the crank position sensor and looks ok.what else can do or check?help pleas att ROY
