Same Problem with blinking stand by light no TV

Did you find out what the problem was?

The TV went out and when I tried to turn it back on....no sound or picture. The standby light just kept blinking. Called the cable company and the repairman assured me not a problem with my cable box (the bedroom TV worked fine - Magnavox). The cable guy called a friend who had a Sony Wega who said his was a fuse but others were their "mother board" and not worth the price of fixing. Mine is only two years old!!!!!!!

Can the main power supply be fixed? If so, how do I do it?

Count the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON. These blinks are fault indications. After counting it, check this link for more details. There are details about Sony blinking codes. Search the site by brand name and model number to your TV in its search box.

Sony tv will not turn on stand by timer light blinking

Try as suggested to count the blinks to see if it is an error code or not. blinks will be in a sequence with a pause and blink the same number of times over and over.

Tv wont come on and a red light is blinking. I have a Sony Wide screen projection TV model kp-46wt520

Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.
