Question about Avaya Lands Phones

I have a partner acs rel 7 with a voice mail card (large) 16 mailboxes. I set the time to the correct time at ext. 10, and it holds for maybe 15 minutes or until a call rings in, then the system clock advances an hour. Any help would be appreciated.

With the new firmware of the 5x9 syncs the time of the phone system from the data of Caller ID. The provider is sending the wrong time stamp on the caller ID.

They did that to compensate for the new daylight savings time change.

Your voice mail extensions are programmed incorrectly in the system. You need to enter the System Programming mode from Ext 10 or 11 and use #607 to set the correct voicemail extensions.

Voice Mail Pick up


Changing the vms hunt delay on a Partner ACS system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
enter in "#505"
the display should say VMS Hunt Delay and mode:
enter 1 for day mode or 2 for night mode
enter line you want to program in 2 digit format (line 1 =01)
enter number of rings (2)
press feature "00" to logout

Partner ACS phone system won't fwd calls to mailbox


If they want all calls to be answered by the general delivery mailbox only them you need to change the Group Distribution (#206) on all the lines in group 7 from (1) assigned to (3) VMS Line Cover and also change the Line Coverage Ext (208) on all lines to ext 10

How many mailboxes do you have set up?

If you have Partner Voice Messaging, it has limited storage.

Guest mailboxes will not answer


Programming on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
Enter #301
The display will say Automatic VMS Cover Extension:
Enter in the extension number of the phone that has the guest mailbox
The display should say 1 Assigned, if not press 1

press feature "00" to logout

Press 7 It will then ask for a line number
enter in 05
the display will say 1 assigned
press 3 VMS Line Cover
Do the same procedure (from #206 on) for line 6
Then enter #208
The display will say Line Coverage Ext Line:
Enter 05 The display will then say Data --
Enter in the extension you want the voice mail to pick up the lines on
Lastly if its not done allready, enter #301
The display will say Automatic VMS Cover Extension:
Enter in the extension number of the phone thats getting the voice mails
The display should say 1 Assigned

press feature "00" to logout

easy w/ some more info. what release acs? no clue maybe... then you can "default" system which restores system setting to day 1 and you then se date and time , then assign ringing to phones after that. UNLESS you have Auto Attendant and / or voice mail card . other settings must be programmed in this case. -Bob
