Firmware update help pleaaasssss!!!!

I recently downloaded a Sansa updater from the sight(, and after updating my Sansa e250 media player, i saw on my player that it could not load the main image and to connect to recovery mode. I did all the steps and also i followed some instructions from the forum(anythingaboutipods), which told me to download a firmware, which i did and copy to the Sansa while in recovery mode. My problem is that after all the steps i put of my player then when i put it back on only the volume lights comes on. Can you please help me with this.

Thanks for helping but I tried it but the only thing i got from the Recovery tool was that it could not detect my problem so call customer care.

Thanks for all the suggestions.....Ya i guess you're right, but what i like about the Sansa is that it can record and installing Rockbox on it brings out a lot of cool features...

I got another one so i have given up on the bricked issue for now....

And i'm enjoying the new firmware and it's features.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
Try doing it this way its slightly different but if you goto the sandisk website thier is also a recovery tool you can download so have a look on the site then if you have trouble finding it then get back to me ok

    1. Make sure the player is powered off
    2. Enable the "Hold" switch
(located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when
    you see the "orange-colored" surface
    3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button.
    4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E260 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode"
Connect your E260 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum
Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and
    6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa
E260 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB"
    drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6.

Next, Apply the firmware for the E260 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time):
