The problem is most likely a short or an impedence match problem. Make sure that you do not have any wires touching and make sure that your speaker that you are hooking up is rated at a impedence your receiver is capable of. Most receivers like 8 OHMs, so that might be a start. If your speaker is rated at a lower impedence than your receiver then you might have a problem if it is higher then you should be fine. I hope it works out for you. Let me know.

I have 2 10's hooked up to my Sony explode 1200 watt 2 ch amp and protect light comes on

2 tens are not handling the power load from your amp. The protect light means that the speakers have an overload safety device so you won't fry(literally) the speaker voice coils. I suggest adding more speakers(making sure the ohms are still correct) or more heavy duty higher power handling speakers. If you are unfamiliar with this process, best to utilize the services of a professional.

My amp has a protection light on need to know how to fix. When I pull the fuses out the power comes in but when I put the fuse back in the protection light comes back on

From the description your audio output transistors or ic's have a short causing a load problem activating the protection circuit. Turn volume right down, power off, remove speaker wires from the back, power on! if protection kicks on it is the audio outputs in the receiver, if not! check speaker wires for shorts, hook back one at a time until defective wire or speaker is located. The audio outputs will need to be addressed by a technician since there is complexity involved.

The protection light wont go off when hook it up

Remove off the speaker and check if the protection light changes, if so the speakers are short by themselves or to the body.correcct and check.
However if there is still no difference then the amplifier output is short. you will need to check for short in one of the stages and change.

Protection Light Comes on

Sounds like you have an ohm problem, Tryy hooking the positive from one speaker to the negative on the other speaker. Then hook the negative from the first speaker to the negative on your amp and the positive from the second to the positive on the amp this will drop your ohm load and the amp should stop going into protection.

Hi i have a 600 watt sony xplod amp model xm-554zr and it recently stopped working. when i turn my car on the amp turns on but only for a sec then the protection light comes on, on the amp and it wont...

sounds like maybe a speaker short, try unhooking your speakers and then powering up your amp, if it then powers up with the speakers unhooked try hooking up each speaker one by one untill the amp goes back into protection and then you have your bad speaker.

Sony explode amp for my car

Try disconnecting everything but the power connections. If the protection light still comes on, then there's a problem in the amp. If it goes out, then there's a problem elsewhere. In that case, hook up one speaker cable at a time and power on. If the protection light comes on, then either that speaker is bad, or you've got too many speakers connected to that one amp output. Too many speakers connected together can cause an overload and trigger the protection circuitry, or worse, blow out something out.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice.
Thank you, and good luck!!
