I have a hotpoint dishwasher that wouldn't drain water. I have opened the bottom up and looked at the pump which had a piece of china blocking the propeller. This was removed and the pump refitted, however...

Lisa, talk to a friendly neighbour with DIY skills. Go online and find the best price for a new pump, weigh that up against a new machine plus a cup of coffee for your neighbour. If that fails get an appliance engineer for a quote, bearing in mind he will charge you full retail for a pump plus fitting. When you go online or talk to an engineer have all the machine detail off the label on the back ready to hand. You don't say where you are or give machine details so I can't help you further at this time.

The machine doesn't start! The led pause/start is blikkering green or yellow, but I can't get the machine working

1) Ensure the dishwasher is turned off. 2) (may not apply) Turn the plastic blue lever located under the sink to the vertical position (this opens the valve, so water can go into the dishwasher) 3) Pour powder indo the dishwasher 4) Turn the dishwasher controller to the top position (the 12 o?clock position) ? this is the eco-setting. 5) Press the on/power button on the dishwasher, so that it now turned on (a light will display) 6) Move the dishwasher controller to the ?R? position (it?s on the very left), and leave it there a second or two. 7) Move the dishwasher controller back to the eco-setting (the 12 o?clock position).

Kenwood Slimline Dishwasher KDW8ST2A

I have a Kenwood Kdw8st2a and have been constantly plagued by the E4 overfill error.

Lifting the front of the dishwasher and tilting it backwards seemed to clear the E4 error only for it to come back after the next wash.

I found eventually that the connection to the U bend under the sink was too narrow and was almost blocked hence the dishwasher was not emptying properly.

I disconnected the dishwasher waste pipe and ran the waste into a bucket for about 6 cycles and it worked fine.

Eventually drilled through the kitchen wall and fitted a lower direct waste pipe to the drain. Overkill maybe buit it hasn't done an E4 since.

Hotpoint fdw60 eco error code

I had this problem too, but discovered the cause and the remedy.

The flashing eco light signifies that the drain sump has water in it. Before the machine takes on water it checks a float located in the sump. If the float says that there is water in the sump then the machine presumes that there has been a problem when draining and decides not to take on any more water.

In my particular case, the sump collected extra water after the machine has last drained itself because the bottom spray arm has come off and allowed some water to enter the machine. Make sure that you check that!

The simple solution is to empty the sump of water. Do this by tipping the machine onto its right side. Warning! You will get wet feet! There was about a 1/4 pint of water in my dishwasher.

After that you should find that your dishwasher works perfectly again! Why Hotpoint couldn't include this simple task in their manual I'll never know! Health & Safety I guess...

HTH!
