SOURCE: Is the thread that holds the blade in left handed

Hello. Use some WD-40 on the screw and let it sit for a few hours. Then be sure you have a screwdriver that fits properly. As you look at the screw head, left is loose. Turn the screw head in a counter clockwise direction. Regards, Joe

1 year old rtz and I ran over a limb that fell in the yard. The mower made an unusual noise and stopped. Engine runs good blade engages but when you press the gas to go in forward/rev nothing happens

it is possible that the limb got caught in the pulley and made the drive belt pop off. look under it and see if there is a belt that looks really loose or out of place.

How to put the blade into the black and decker 3.4 amp powered handsaw

#1) You have to locate the blade release button on the saw (see your manual). The opposite side of the release button is a screw-like OVAL shaped PIN. To insert the blade, the direction( or position) of this OVAL shaped PIN has to match the OVAL shaped hole in the blade. You could use a screw driver to change the direction/position of this OVAL shaped pin. You have to push down the release button when you use the screw driver to turn.

#2) Hold the blade in Vertical position in your right hand. The "Oval" hole is on top. The teeth is facing your left hand. You will see that the "oval" hole on the top of the blade is a "horizontal" oval.

#3) Hold the saw (handle) in your left hand as if you were going to saw using your left hand.
Now peek through the hole of the saw and find the direction of the OVAL PIN. It has to be a "horizontal" (or lied down) OVAL. If it is not, use the screw driver to adjust it.

#4) Hold the blade using your right hand. Oval hole on top, teeth facing your left hand. Insert
the blade from the bottom of the saw. What you needed to do is to insert the PIN into the hole
of the blade. When you inserted the pin into the hole of the blade, slowly turned the blade upward, the blade will lock by itself.

tilt machine back all the way and use a short screwdriver to tighten one screw slightly. this will hold hook in position while u tighten other screws. its easier if u take off feeder plate.

My flush ceiling fan is wobbling and hitting against the ceiling making an awful noise. How do I fix that issue?

The fan blades appear to be out of balance. First, check the screws that hold the fan blade irons to the fan motor. Tighten all that may be loose. If that doesn't solve the problem. the fan hanger bracket behind the ceiling cowl cover may be loose (it's attached with thin screws). In addition, the electrical box, that the hanger is attached to, may have come loose from the ceiling joist. If the electrical box has come loose, the box will need to be reattached to the joist with 1 1/2" long screws.

Hope this helps to solve the problem.

I have a model 5BS520C. The light works but when I pull the chain for the fan, I hear the sound of three speeds but the blades do not turn. ed.pfohl@gmail.com

Here some toubleshooting:

Problem 1. Fan will not start.
Probable Cause
1. Fuse or circuit breaker blown.
2. Loose power line connections to the fan, or loose wire connections in the switch housing.
3. Reversing switch in neutral position.

Suggested Remedy
1. Check main and branch circuit fuses or circuit breakers.
2. Check line wire connections to fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing.
3. Make sure reversing switch position is all the way to one side.

WARNING: Make sure main power is turned off.

Problem 2. Fan sounds noisy.
Probable Cause
1. Blades not attached to fan.
2. Loose screws in motor housing.
3. Screws securing fan blade flanges to motor hub are loose.
4. Switch housing binding against the blade hub.
5. Wire connectors inside switch housing rattling.
6. Screws holding blades to flanges are loose.

Suggested Remedy
1. Attach blades to fan before operating.
2. Check to make sure all screws in motor housing are snug (not over-tight).
3. Check to make sure the screws which attach the fan flanges to the motor hub are tight.
4. Check to make sure that the switch housing does not bind against the blade hub.
5. Check to make sure wire connectors in switch housing are not rattling against each other or against the interior wall of the witch housing.
6. Tighten screws securely.

WARNING: Make sure main power is turned off.

Problem 3. Fan wobbles
Probable Cause
1. Setscrew in motor coupling is loose.
2. Setscrew in the hanger ball/downrod assembly is loose.
3. Screws securing fan blade flanges to motor hub are loose.
4. Fan blade flanges not seated properly.
5. Hanger bracket and/or outlet box is not securely fastened.
6. Fan blades could be out of balance.

Suggested Remedy
1. Tighten the setscrew in the motor coupling.
2. Tighten the setscrew in the hanger ball/downrod assembly.
3. Check to be sure screws which attach the fan blade to motor hub are tight.
4. Check to be sure the fan blade flanges seat firmly and uniformly to the surface of the motor hub. If flanges are seated incorrectly, loosen the flange screws and retighten.
5. Tighten the hanger bracket screws to the outlet box, and/or secure outlet box.
6. Interchanging an adjacent (side-by-side) blade pair can redistribute the weight and result in smoother operation.

WARNING: FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY TURN OFF POWER AT FUSE BOX OR CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR FAN!!!

Hope helps.

Can't find my owners manual. How do I change the blade. Bolt hits on a guard that covers the arbor. On a DW713 combination saw.

Removing the Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Raise the arm to the upper position and raise the lower guard as far as possible.
3. Loosen, but do not remove guard bracket screw until the bracket can be raised far
enough to access the blade screw. Lower guard will remain raised due to the position
of the guard bracket screw.
4. Depress the spindle lock button (Fig. 3) while carefully rotating the saw blade by hand
until the lock engages
5. Keeping the button depressed, use the other hand and
the wrench provided to loosen the blade screw. (Turn
clockwise, left-hand threads.)
6. Remove the blade screw, outer blade clamp, and
blade. The inner blade clamp may be left on the
spindle.
Installing a Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. With the arm raised, the lower guard held open and the
guard bracket, place the blade on the spindle against
the inner blade clamp with the teeth at the bottom of
the blade pointing toward the back of the saw.
3. Assemble the outer blade clamp onto the spindle.
4. Install the blade screw and, engaging the spindle lock,
tighten the screw firmly with wrench provided. (Turn
counterclockwise, left-hand threads.)
5. Return the guard bracket to its original position and
firmly tighten the guard bracket screw to hold bracket
in place.
WARNING:
• The guard bracket must be returned
to its original position and the
screw tightened before activating
the saw.
• Failure to do so may allow the guard
to contact the spinning saw blade
resulting in damage to the saw and
severe personal injury
