Question about Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless Router
You need to access the router's setup page , by default 192.168.1.1. It will ask then for a username and password. Default settings - username should be left blank and default password is admin . Click on the Administration tab on the black bar on top. First thing you see on top of the page is the router password. By default, it will contain lots of dots. now you can put in your new password. You need to re-enter it to confirm. At the bottom of the page, click on save settings. It will prompt you that setting were successful, click on continue.

SOURCE: Problem with password change
Check your manual if you have the option to change your password. Also try if there is a reset switch; dont do thiese unless you have properly noted down settings particular informations on ISP for your ruter to connect properly again.

These are the default settings:
When the login window appears, set the user name to Admin and leave the password box empty. If this doesn't work, you may also try admin for both username and password (all small letters).
If the default doesn't work, you may reset the password by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds. This will bring the router to factory default settings (including all the configurations set on the router).
Hope this helps.

There is a reset button in the back, small pin hole, hold it in for 10 seconds.
This will restore it to when it was new so you will have to reset all your settings.
The user will be- admin and the password -linksys
or check your manual if these don't work.

First you log into the router setup, then you can change the user and password.
Download the User Manual here to walk through it..
