Using audio video jacks on my computer

Make sure you have the correct plug. The audio out is usually a green plug with a little picture of a speaker next to it. The microphone jack is usually red with, you guessed it, a little picture of a microphone next to it. If you're trying to get sound from your PC to your stereo, you want to connect the cable to the green PC jack.

Also, make sure your volume on the PC isn't muted. In the lower right hand corner of your PC screen, you should see a little speaker icon (click the arrow next to the other icons if you don't see it). Double-click that speaker icon and look at the volume settings. Make sure nothing is muted or set too low, then try again.

Hope this helps.

I do not hear my music what do i have to turn on

In the system tray, check the speaker icon (to me it looks like a megaphone on Vista and Win7). A single left click will check if the speakers are set to a low volume or mute.

Also check if the correct drivers are loaded (there will be an exclamation point here if that is the case). Allow Windows to Fix the problem with Windows Update set to download and install updates.

If that is fine, check that the speakers are plugged in properly to the computer and themselves. If you have a multi-channel sound card and speakers, check your manuals. If you just need the single speaker out audio jack, it is usually colored light green. For USB speakers, try plugging them into another USB port or directly to the computer if plugged into a hub.

If the speakers need external power, make sure that plug is plugged in and the transformer is warm. If the transformer brick is cold after being plugged in to a live outlet, you will need to replace it (contact the manufacturer or read your documentation carefully to match the output voltage to the original). Alternatively get new speakers.

A final thing to try is in the control panel, under Administrative Tools, open the Component Services window. Stop any items related to your audio device and then restart them. Reboot the computer afterwards.

These are the most likely suspects and I hope this helps.

Speakrs don't work on new HP Pavilion desktop.

If you're using Windows XP, go to the Control Panel, then double-click on Sound, then go to the Audio tab and make sure the playback device is set to your Realtek output.

If you're using Windows Vista, go to Control Panel and click on Hardware and Sound, then click on Sound. Make sure your Realtek device is selected with a green check mark. If it isn't, just click on it and then click the Set as Default button down below. Vista sound configuration is kinda quirky, and it does do some kind of detection when you plug a cable into an audio jack, so you might leave this screen up while you plug your speakers into the green audio jack in the sound card and see if it pops anything weird up.

No audio in monitor internal speakers.

Make sure the cable that goes from the monitor to the computers green audio jack is connected.
Check that the monitors speakers are not muted(see if there is an option to do that by pressing certain buttons on the monitor) ,finally make sure the sound on the computer itself is not muted or too low.
