There is always a wireless option on your router. Check to make sure that your wireless is turned on and that you arent blocking your wireless signal with a WPA personal passcode.

Hey guys could i use my router as a radio to pull the internet signal from a next router without using any cable

With the Linksys router it is not possible. You will need to connect the cable between the two routers. Linksys router will not pick up the wireless signal from the other wireless router.
May be it will work If you upgrade the DD-WRT Firmware. Not sure but it may. consult with the DD-WRT expert before upgrading the firmware.

Linksys WRT160N Connection Issues.

Sadly, this router has horrible reviews and is known for this problem:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16833124277

Can you return it for another model?
Can you getLinksys to replace it?

the best one is the LINKSYS WRT54GL, but if you are stuck with the one you have...

If you have tried all these things and you are very brave (or don't care if you need to buy another router) why not try flashing it with an after market O/S?

Connection Drops . wrt150n disconnecting

This is a firmware issue with the newer Linksys routers, and most people are having the same issue. Don't expect a stable firmware release from the manufacturer any time soon.

Instead, if you want to fix the problem properly, head on over to www.dd-wrt.com and install their firmware. I did this in a last ditch effort before throwing out my router, and now the router hasn't acted up for more than 10 days.

Be sure to follow the instructions when flashing firmware, several of the steps are critical to not "bricking" your router. As usual, make sure you are on a WIRED connection, as flashing from a wireless connection is guaranteed to kill your router. When flashing dd-wrt's firmware, you must also first flash a "mini" or "micro" version before flashing the full version.

I have linskey wrt160 router the router work on my desktop not my laptop it will not connect

I have heard alot of people having this type of problem. The best would be to upgrade your firmware to another firmware such as

dd-wrt and tomato

I prefer you choose DD-WRT just go to www.dd-wrt.com and click on supported devices and just type in the last 3 digits of your router then download the firmware depending on the type of your specification. Then on the wireless make sure you put the Wireless Network Mode on Mixed.

If you need more setting please let me know i will be able to assist you much better on this..

Thanks

Linksys N router drops signal

Its not dropping you because of the spectrums, it works on line of sight. If you are in a basement and your router is upstairs it has to go thru a floor and the strength is weakened. Go into your router and increase the signal strength. But you have to mod your firmware.

Wrt150n dd-wrt firmware slow loading pages

First off thanks for using fixya.com

Second, I too am a dd-wrt user and found a similar problem when using dd-wrt with my IPCOP. You may want to go into the "Security" section of your dd-wrt and disable any fire walling or access-restrictions. Since you are already running zonealarm. Or remove zonealarm if you plan to use dd-wrt as your firewall.

Running multiple firewalls will slow down your network/Internet traffic.

Hope this helps you out.
