SOURCE: System will not start up.

This is a signal fault between the indoor and outdoor first make sure the dip switches are set start with the unit closest to the condensor set as unit 1 then next unit as 2 and so on the dip switches are inside the indoor unit on the pc board if you check the manual it will tell you which swithes to set, if this wasnt done when the units where installed they would have never worked i would also check the signal wiring between the wallmount and the splitter box / bc box and make sure there isnt a loose connection when you have ruled this out id say more than likely it is a faulty indoor board on the wallmounted unt

Have a Luxaire LHKA12KSAAA air conditioner that was disconnected wrong and now it has no refrigerant in the system after being relocated, what type of refrigerant and what volume does this model hold?

The type of refrigerant will be marked on the outdoor unit rating plate. It will probably be R22 or R410A. The amount of refrigerant will also be written on the plate. The entire system will require evacuation and leak testing. This should only be done by a Licensed Technician.

2014 Dometic Brisk II 15,000 unit won't cool below 88 degrees

Check the unit to see if the outdoor fan and compressor are coming on. If not, check to see if power is reaching the contactor, both the high power contacts and the low voltage solenoid. Some contactors can be manually actuated, and a quick press (with a NON CONDUCTIVE ITEM) can show you if the contactor is engaging. If the solenoid is not working, check the wiring of your thermostat. When set to cool mode, there should be voltage on the solenoid of the primary contactor, sending power to the outdoor fan motor and compressor.

If the outdoor fan and compressor engage normally, then make certain the coils are free of debris and other blockages. If air flows freely and the compressor is running, feel the tubing for temperature changes. One side should grow cooler and the other warmer.

If the compressor runs but there is no temperature change, take your unit to a certified technician to check for leaks and system pressures. Roof top units typically use R22 refrigerant not R134a automotive refrigerant, which require EPA certification for purchase and dispensing.

Mr slim Mitsubishi - how much fill

On the data plate for the outdoor unit it will tell you what type and how much refrigerant you need. If the line set is longer than 25 feet you will likely need a bit more than what it says. A 40 degrees evaporator temperature is ideal, approximately 65 psi for r22

Can you tell me what type of refrigerant is in my a/c it is a 15 k btu dometic brisk air roof top unit and is about 4-5 years old.I can't find it on the unit also how much will it hold and if its not 134 a...

USUALLY its R22. DO NOT USE ANY REFRIGERANT TIL YOU KNOW IT NEEDS IT THOUGH. The plate is usually inside the top cover and you can read it after removing the cover. If its a 110or 220 AC unit Im almost sure its R22. And the weight listed will be the most you should try to put in it. BUT before you do that you have to put on a piercing valve. And the pressures are higher for R22 than R134A. It will ofcourse depend on the outdoor and indoor temps as to what pressures youll be running as well as fan speed. Freezing is 57-58psig on R22 so the pressure after ruinnign 10 to 15 minutes has to be greater than 57 or 58 PSIG. It is normal for some units to run for a while at a lower pressure when 1st started though so dont jump the gun.

Outdoor unit will not run

Some air conditioners have a thermostat that will not allow the compressor to run below a certain out side tempature as it will cause liquit to come back into the compressor(called slugging) and damage or destroy it.

If the refrigerant charge was improperly adjusted at any time you may have the indications of an overcharge in your system causing the high pressure to trip out. The name plate on these indicates the proper charge and it is critical to the ounce.
