I took my oster trimmers apart now i dont know how to put them back together can u help me

Unfortunately, Oster does not publish any real maintenance manuals. Basically, if you only took apart the cutting blades and the oscillator, it's not too hard. If you tried to take apart the electric motor, that's a whole different story. If it's just the blade assembly, carefully align the blade assembly with the groove pointing into the trimmer handle and hold the blades together so that they are parallel, not crooked and reinsert the screws. You will see how the blades align, based on the wear marks on the bottom blade guide. If you took apart the oscillating arm, then line up the cam pin with the round hole in the arm, then replace the screws that attach the top blade to the oscillating arm. You may have to push in the tension arm so that you can align the screws with the threaded holes on the handle first. Final step is to screw the bottom blade guide back onto the handle, again align the guide with the blades so that they are parallel and not crooked. The best way to do this is to start threading the screws, then before tightening them all the way, align the blades first. If none of this works, go to this website: http://www.osterstyle.com/CustomerService.aspx and locate an authorized Oster dealer/support center near you. You'll probably have to mail the clippers in to one of the sites.

Oster A-5 Golden clipper blade is not flush against the clipper so wont clip you have to hold the blade down tight so it will clip.

see if the blade and hinge have moved away from the body of the clipper, the two screws either side of the hinge assembly may need tightening, or the main body may need replacing,
If its just one blade then there must be a problem with that blade.

Can i sharpen my electic trimmers using sandpaper

Things You'll Need: Three-sided blade sharpener (coarse, medium, fine) Small flat head screwdriver step 1 Using the flat head screwdriver, unscrew the trimmer blades and remove them carefully. Wipe off any oil, grime or dirt that has built up on them as this may make it more difficult to handle and keep them in place during the manual portion of the sharpening process. Step 2 Separate the blades and re-apply only the moving blade to the tension spring. Then apply the moving blade to sharpener surface and turn the clippers or trimmers on. Hold the moving blade on the surface of the sharpener and apply light pressure while moving the blade back and forth for one to two minutes. You can also lay the blade on the sharpener first, then put the trimmer tension spring directly on the blade. Step 3 Turn off the clippers and remove the moving blade. It should look shiny and feel sharper. Step 4 Remove the guide from the guide blade by unscrewing it using the flat head screwdriver. Place the guide blade on the sharpening surface and manually run it back and forth for about one or two minutes or until it's been sharpened to your satisfaction. Screw the guide back onto the guide blade while being careful to readjust it before you tighten the screws. Step 5 Screw all the blades back on the trimmers and power them on to make sure they've been fitted correctly. Test them on your own hair to make sure they've been sharpened correctly and are set to the desired depth. Ads by Google Best Knife Sharpener Sharpen like the pros. Complete kit w/ 1x30 belt sander. If they are very dull, you will want to start with the coarse or medium side of the sharpener. If they just need a small amount of sharpening, use the fine side. If you've never sharpened electric trimmers before, you may want to visually observe and feel the sharpness of the blades with your fingers before you start to sharpen it. It may be hard to tell if the blades are sharp enough if you don't feel them just before you apply them to the sharpening surface.

Hi, I have a 'Pet Clipper Kit fot Dummies' and its action is very silent except when I put a grading attachment on. The noise is horrendous! I've tried setting the stroke using the screw on the right side...

When you attach the attachment, check that it might be touching/rubbling on the movable top blade. If it is interferring with the back and forth motion of the top blade it may cause the noise you are talking of. Try moving it around to avoid this interferance.

Noisy wahl hair clippers

1st remove the blade. Once the blade is off grab the blade drive between your fingers, if it moves side to side without any spring pressure than the drive arm is loose from the armature. If that is tight, than the armature may be loose and lifted out of alignment. There are two screws on the right hand side of the case which hold the armature. If the screw is phillips head it is standard thread, if it is torx head it is reverse thread. loosen these screws and press down firmly on the armature. The top of the armature should be even with the top of the motor coil. If the drive lever as mentioned earlier is seperating from the armature then this should be warranty repaired by the manufacturer.

How to repair my hair trimmers?

I am a retired hairdresser and it sounds like one of three things or a combination. Your blades may be worn (dull) and need replacement , it may need to be oiled, the blades could be "misaligned" and need to be adjusted. You do that by removing the two screws holding the blades on, remove the blades, while you have them off, clean out any built up clippings in there and then put the blades back on. BEFORE you tighten down the screws make sure the "teeth" from the blades are lined up so the bottom blade teeth can be seen BETWEEN each top blade tooth. NOT directly on top of each other. Now tighten the screws. urn the clipper on and add a drop of clipper oil (no substitutes) onto the running blades. That should do the trick.

Loud buzzing on Wahl "Designer" model clippers

There is a "power screw" located on the side of the clipper opposite the switch. This may need adjusting. Take a screw driver or coin....and with the unit running......turn the screw back and forth until the clipper stops making noise. The proper position for the most power is to turn the screw intil it makes a loud noise, then turn it back just enough to get rid of it.

Where do you put the two little springs, and what do they do? My blades have started to rattle on clipper. Oster turbo clippers.

The springs probably go with the carbon brushes, to hold them in. To find the brushes, use a dime to unscrew the two circles on the side of the clippers.

The rattling could be from loose screws on the blade hinge. My turbo clippers did the same thing. The blades rattle if the screws are even slightly loose.
