Installing a Pedal Strap onto a Bike Pedal

Video about How to Install a Pedal Strap onto a Bike Pedal

  • This procedure will demonstrate how to attach a pedal strap onto a pedal
    • This is even easier when the pedal is attached to the bike but we did not have a bike available so we are showing how it is done with the pedalremoved from the bike
      • Tip: Soaking the pedal straps in hot water can make the strap installation even easier as the hot water will soften the rubber making it more pliable
  • Start on the inside of the pedal (nearest the pedal shaft) by placing the slotted hole in the strap at the bottom of the tab and pulling the strap up and into place as seen in the video
  • Then with the tab on the outside of the pedal, start at the bottom and push the strap up and around the tab into place
  • This is all that is required to install a pedal strap onto a bike pedal
  • That completes the procedure

How can I tell which Schwinn Recumbant bike I own? I've had it for over 10 years and it needs some repairs after the movers broke parts.

It is not necessarily important to know the model, as almost all of the parts are not unique to a particular model or even brand of bike. Knowing the model would not help most bike shops or especially online providers to find the right part. I would advise you to go to a local bike shop or bike co-op for assistance in determining what parts would be compatible. If the movers broke parts I would strongly suggest getting a repair estimate, including both parts and labor, to submit to the moving company - before you attempt any repairs. They have insurance to cover such issues.

I have installed and removed clipless pedals but not these-need to change from one bike to the next. How do I remove my ultra 6700 carbon SPD clipless pedals from my bicycle's crank arm

Go and buy a Pedal Wrench (at your Local Bike Shop, or online).
If you buy it from your LBS, then they'll happily demonstrate how to use it, otherwise do a search for Bike Wrench on You Tube.
Hope this helps.

I am borrowing a bike from a friend and i can not figure out how to change the gears...

Google "bicycle shifting technique", for example:

You should NEVER run cross-chained (big-big or small-small). The drive train performs best when the chainline is as close to straight as possible.

Excess sideways stress on the chain will wear it out prematurely and decrease its normal efficiency.

To demonstrate this for yourself, put the bike in the same combination of gears you

2010 Fuji Newest 4.0 Road Bike user manual

The Fuji Newest does not use any special user manual. You can go into any bike shop and they will have an owners/ users manual for a similar road bike. The manuals are written generically so they only produce one for all there models of road bikes.

Most shops will also be happy to give you a brief demonstration of how to use the brakes and shifters, in fact the shop where you recieved the bike will most certainly be happy to provide this service. I have never heard of a shop charging for taking a few minutes to show a rider how to safely operate their bike, and having some one show you on your bike is preferable to a generic manual.

There are also some decent resources on youtube that demonstrate how to shift and brake your road bike, Have fun with your bike.

In the US. Performance bikes is a large Fuji dealer that always has extra manuals, if your near one.

Re-assembling a portable bike pump

Thanks so much for this opportunity. Soon after contacting you, I found a site, complete with video demonstration. Just by seeing the pump in its dormant position, I was able to deduce how to reassemble it. I need a repair manual for a duo fast striper nail gun.model#325b

Your nailer, although very good, is rapidly becoming obsolete as many parts are no longer available. When these guns were first made available, a sales rep. demonstrated repair techniques and did not provide repair manual. Owners manual for many models are available at has parts lists and many parts available. If you are having a specific problem please post it; maybe I can help. Good Luck
