Hi there,
There could be more possible causes why your webcam is not shown. But what I'm gonna show you here is the most common

symptoms. Number one, if your laptop is working before, and now it is not, maybe the driver of your webcam has become

corrupted. To determine whether it's driver is corrupted or not, here's what you're going to do:

*click start menu, click run, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter
*when the device manager window pops up, look for your webcam device here
*if you see a yellow exclamation mark beside it, then your webcam driver is corrupted. You can type in the model of your asus

laptop and find the driver of your webcam on their website at

Second, maybe your webcam is accidentally disabled. To enable it, restart your laptop. Before you will see the initial display on

the screen, hold down or steadily press the F2 until you enter the BIOS Setup Utility. Go to advance, go to on board devices

configuration, enable on board camera and you're done.

Hope this helps, Good luck.

My web cam is been stopped to work since last night,There is ablank gray wall only and nothing more.surprised what happen suddenly. My laptop model is Acer Extense 4230.I have already reinstalled drivers...

Since u have already tried reinstalling the webcam drivers, try resetting BIOS.
Then check whether it is shown in Device Manager under Imaging devices.
If its not shown, its an issue with the webcam.
If its shown there, try doing a complete system recovery.

Hi, I wanted to ask how safe and secure is MSN webcam and does the webcame record you?

its pretty safe, unless the person watching your cam has a webcam recording software that can capture and save to disk what is being shown on cam.
