the hum which is caused by using either the optical or coaxial connection is
a know problem. that KLH customer service knows which may be reached at
877-799-0863. they state that in a month call back to find out if it is
fixed. I suspect that the whole unit may need to be replaced once they
discover, and fix the problem. I believe that a components is not propley
shielded, or grounded and the is what causes the sound.

Yes my receiver only hums when I try to listen to the TV that is connect using an optical cable. I've tried different cables, still get annoying humming sound.
