You can check it on the adapter it self. You should see a sticker that contains information about the voltage and other specifications about the adapter.

How can i hook up a car stereo in the garage without using a car battery, and get the same juice as far as wattage and power???

Wire a 12 volt AC adapter to it. Connect the power to the positive wire, & the ground to the negative wire. If it's a low power unit a 1 amp adapter will work. If it's a high powered unit you might need a 12 volt 5-10 amp adapter designed for monitors, TVs, monitors, & some laptops. Beware some laptop AC adapters can be 16-36 volts. Make sure you use a 12 volt one, & know which wire is positive, or you'll burn it out.

How many volts I have a charger that has different volts which one to set it on I have a whistler 1610 just trying to put the charger on the right voltage

Most automotive electronics work on a 12 Volt DC system. You must be using adapter capable of providing about 12 to 14 volts because car batteries provide 12 volts; but car alternators put out 13.8 volts. Do not attempt to connect to an adapter that put out AC voltage!

My power adapter won't work in a 117 ac volts outlet. It works in a 120 ac volt outlet. And it gets hot. Why? My Lenovo adapter works just fine in the 117 ac volt outlet.

check the amps (A) not just the volts (V) of the computer. The details (A and V) on the adapter should always be less than the details (A and V) on the laptop/notebook (see under it).

hope this helps,

My adapter is not working

US house current is 110-120 Volts and 60 cycles. Adapter must have this type of power. India has 220 Volts and 50 cycles ( Hz). You need an adapter designed for Europe/ India

There is a red blinking light and it is not cleaning.

My Ionic Breeze would work for a short time after cleaning and the blue light would start flashing and the unit would stop working. I checked the wall cube power adapter with a volt meter. It was putting out only 10 volts instead of the needed 12 volts. It seems The Ionic Breeze needs a full 12-13 volts to work. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a universal 12 volt 800ma power adapter. I checked the voltage in the new adapter, it was 13 volts. This fixed the flashing blue light problem. However the Ionic Breeze produces harmful Ozone gas, so I don't use it anymore.
