Question about Toys
I recently picked up a John Deere riding toy at a garage sale and I need to know how long do i charge a 6 volt Peg Perego battery for?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Problem #1:If you have taken the high speed safety device off the stick shift(small red plastic block screwed on below the yellow stick shift housing) then your high/low speed switch has gone out. There are two motors(one on each back wheel) that both have to come on when in high speed. Only one comes on for low speed. It is the switch under shifter that is not spring loaded. hi/lo switch #MEPU0002 available at www.tigerimports.net for $11.00 plus $2.00shipping That is where I got mine.
Problem #2: Sounds like you need hi/lo switch and possibly forward/reverse switch too. Before buying forward/reverse switch try putting a little grease on the white plastic assembly that engages the forward/reverse switch between the top piece and the piece that pushes down on top of the switch. Sometimes they just stick enough to stop switch from depressing. It is the switch under shifter that is spring loaded.Forward/reverse switch #MEPU0003 $11.00 plus $2.00 shipping @tigerimports.net

Here are the printable instructions from the Perego website.
From what I can tell, there are levers on both sides of the grill that you press to flip the grill down to the ground. You can then get to the battery to pull it out and charge it.
Hope this helps!

take the battery out and get some specs. then search the internet for prices, i have found many rare batteries this way. it might be a common battery that you could buy at most stores, so pop it out and have a look

Where the front bully bar is, there is an indent in the middle , enough for your phillips head screw driver to get into, you must undo that screw and there will be a tab on either side of that panel to pull and the front bummer assembly will hinge out towards you, you can then unplug the battery and connect your charger..

Presumably, the John Deere is manufactured in or for the USA. If so the plug for the power adapter is for USA. To confirm this check for 2 straight vertical pins adjacent to each other at the top of the plug. The plug may or may not also have a circular round (or half round) pin centralised underneath the two vertical pins. Also confirm that the power adapter has printed on it something similar to 100 -- 120V (volts) to 6V. In this case, you will need a plug-in transformer to operate the power pack. The voltage required is: 240V input to 115V output. You should be able to purchase an enclosed unit with the appropriate plug (for AUS) and socket (for US) from Tandy, **** Smith or a similar retailer or an electrical wholesaler. The other specification you will need when purchasing an enclosed transformer is the power rating in Watts or VA. Look for this information on the power pack and buy a transformer that is rated above this rating. If the power rating is not stated on the power pack look for a current rating in amps (A) or milliamps (mA -- 1 mA = 0.001A) associated with the US voltage (100 -- 120V). Multiply the current x the voltage to obtain a VA or Watts rating. Buy a transformer which is rated above this power rating.
