Question about Washing Machines

My NEC NW452 is leaking from a small tube/hose

My NW452 (NEC 4.5kg top loader Washing Machine) is leaking/draining from a small tube/hose underneath the drum (it connects at one end to the bottom of the drum), as soon as water enters the machine.

The tube is about 15cm long and only 1cm in diameter. It seems to be made of the same stuff as the much longer tube I believe relates to the water level switch. I have no idea what this tube does, but I'm guessing it should be connected somewhere?

I'm tempted to just clamp off/block this tube, but I'm worried that could cause further problems...

Also the pump seems to be working fine, but while there's water in the machine (say I tip in a bucket) then water will leak from this small tube.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Can someone please help me. There are 2 tubes coming out from underneath the drum, what are they for?

Woodchuck (the previous expert) said 1 tube was for the water level switch which seems to be connected okay, but didn't acknowledge that there is a 2nd tube let alone advise where it needs to go.

I can't seem to attach pictures but I can email them if someone provides an address.

I need to wash some clothes asap!

This is the washer tub water level pressure sensing tube, the water fills the tube and this creates pressure and that operates the water level switch by putting pressure on a pressure sensitive diaphragm inside the water level switch, just clamp it with a small band clamp avail from any auto parts store or hardware store.

Make sure the end of it isn't supposed to be connected to the water level switch tube. Does the water level switch work correctly for low medium and high level loads. Can you see the end of the water level switch tube. That area is the correct area for it.

    Thanks for the quick response!

I'll have another look when I get home, and I'll see if I can post a picture...

I thought this was a seperate tube altogether, but this is the first time I've ever looked inside a washing machine!

Here's a couple of pictures (I can't see until I post if they will come through though).

As you can see, there are 2 tubes that come out of the drum.

1 gets bundled with some wires and continues all the way up to the top of the machine, the other one is loose (where the water comes out) and I cant find anywhere it might attach though I dont really know what I'm looking for.

It's a bit hard to test whether the water level switch is working as I'd have to bring the machine inside and it will start leaking everywhere again?

If it is related to the water level switch I can clamp the tube off though, right?

As far as I can see the pictures haven't/wont attach. I reduced them to well below the size limit.

Is there an address I can email them to?

Either way, are you aware of another tube (other than the 'water switch tube') coming from the drum, and if so do you know what it is for, or where it should lead?

I can't find any diagrams of this washer. It seems to be the type that uses bubbles to clean. Your tube could be associated with that or an overflow tube which controls where the water goes in case of an overfill so as not to damage other parts.

Front loader leaking underneath in the back corner on the left hand side

If its leaking during the fill cycle, its one of the water valves (solenoids) or associated hoses, loose clamps, etc. If its leaking during draining its the drain hoses, pump, clamps etc. Easiest way to tell. Pull it out, if you can remove the back, run it and look for the leak. Just don't touch anything while its running, you don't want to lose a finger or get electrocuted.

Frigidaire top loader drains water from underneath

You may have a split in a outlet pipe or a pipe has come off. If it's only leaking when it is emptying I would suggest it's probably a pipe after the pump and one that is higher then the level of water that is in the machine as otherwise the water would siphon out all the time.
Has the outlet hose been extended and have a coupling where it joins?

My washing machine spins and rinses but does not fill with water and wash, what could the problem be. It is a top loader

Does it pump the water in?, I made a small mistake of just running my drain hose to the floor drain in a basement suite once. with out the hose being up above the rim of washer, the water just runs right on out. made a mount with 2 inch pvc and ran a tube to the drain and it worked then.

I have an 'nec nw452, 4.5 kg' washing machine toward the end of the cycle an OE msg comes up and the water doesnt drain. long beeps???

Check the voltage at the drain pump/valve in the first place. Look from under the washer and use a multimeter carefully in the AC range to find the voltage when the wash is initiated to the drain cycle. If there is no supply the program controller unit is faulty but if there is supply the drain pump/valve is clogged or faulty. remove clean or replace.

NEC NW452 4.5kg washing machine - spin cycle not working

theres 2 things to look for , 1 the LID SWITCH that tells the main module that is OK to SPIN, it could be loose or defective (need a multimeter to check the voltage on switch) 2 the DRAIN PUMP MOTOR , usually it gets stuck with lint and debris, need to open washer ,locate at the bottom on one side where the DRAIN hose is connected, is a small motor , take it out and check inside for clogged stuff , also check drain hose , hope this helps , AJ

Nec nw452 washing machine water level does not stop. It overflows even when I put it on low level load. I keep having to turn the machine off and bail the water out into the sink.

I have just fixed this issue on my machine. Empty the machine by using the program options to spin only. Turn off power. Remove the plastic back plate then the silver back plate. Looking at the rear of the machine bowl, right hand side is a plastic tube which runs to the top right hand side of the machine. This is the water level sensor tube. Check if it is broken or blocked. Mine was broken near the top of the machine. I removed the lid (becareful to take note how the spring fits in with the leid for when you replace it. Remove the control panel cover. I saw the water level sensor (looking from the rear of the machine) to the right. It is brown and has one connector which needs to be disconnected (red and white connectors). Then the water level sensor is removed from its housing by unclipping the two clips. Once removed I replaced the tube and then put it all back together.

Washing machine is leaking at bottom of tub

This could be alot of things. Can you give a Make, and Model Number? Is this a Top Loader or a Front loader.

If its a top loader, Unplug the unit first and then remove the front panel, is the front panel removable? Some are not removable.

Once you have the front off it could be as simple as a hose has a hole in it, or worse the tub seal is leaking and you need a complete rebuild or replace the machine.

Also check the hoses coming to the machine and see if they are leaking or if the drain hose has a problem? or is the water coming from somewhere else, sink next to machine? or drain is plugged or very slow and water is coming out of the drain during spin. Please advise if you need further help
